Concrete Society applauds industry excellence T he Northern Irish division of the Concrete Society came together at the Europa hotel MEMBERS OF NORTHERN IRELAND’S CONCRETE INDUSTRY GATHER ONCE AGAIN AT THE CONCRETE SOCIETY AWARDS 2022… Award Winners & Highly Commended

moving forward before she presented the students awards. Host for the evening was Paul Clarke, MBE, of UTV Live and the charity partner was RVH Liver Support Group. The charity received a fantastic £3,093 from donations made on the evening. There were award categories for Students, Process Innovation, Projects and the annual Lifetime Achievement presentation. The Society remarked on how high the standard of entries was this year, and the judges had a very tough time selecting the winners. The awards evening is an excellent display of all the talent and passion for the concrete industry that exists within Northern Ireland. NI Region Chair Neil Cooke commented, “Having been

postponed for the last two years because of the Covid pandemic it was great to see such a large turnout with over 300 in attendance. Many of these coming from other regions and of course our colleagues from the Irish Concrete Society.” It was also the Society’s first awards dinner since the formation of the NI Region Young Persons Committee. Rachel McKeag, the first Chair of this committee, addressed the audience to talk about what people new to the industry want to see
