LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNER: DAVID WALKER, MANAGING DIRECTOR, DORAN CONSULTING

David Walker applauded for outstanding industry contribution

David Walker was honoured with the final award of the evening, the Lifetime Achievement Award. This accomplishment is directed toward individuals who go the extra mile for the concrete industry and are fantastic representatives of the talent, dedication and hard work that really captures the essence of the trade. David has had a significant impact on many individuals and companies within the Northern Irish concrete industry. He joined Doran Consulting as a QUB graduate in 1983 and is now Managing Director. Throughout his 35-year career, David has embraced the use of modern methods of construction on his projects

and, through appropriate specification, encouraged the optimal and sustainable use of concrete. In addition to providing a range of civil engineering services to clients, he was

a guest lecturer to Civil Engineering Students at Queens University and has also previously held the roles of both Honorary Treasurer and Chairman of the Concrete Society (NI Region).

The Northern Irish division of the Concrete Society also rewarded the outstanding achievements of students on the night. Winning Students: QUB, Civil Engineering winner, Conn Brennan; QUB, Architecture winner, Pearse Gillan; Ulster University, Construction Engineering & Management winner, Brendan Hardy and Ulster University, Civil Engineering winner, Mark Winter (unfortunately Mark was unable to attend the event to receive his award in person).
