As Havwoods marks 50 years of design excellence, it feels only right to honour one of the most iconic symbols of our journey: the WoodBook. Over the years, our much-loved WoodBook has become more than a catalogue. What began as a simple bi-fold price list has evolved into a 200 page, design-led publication – a beautifully crafted print piece that helps design professionals and property owners explore possibilities, understand finishes, compare prices and choose luxury wood surfaces that define exceptional spaces. From the moment it drops through letterboxes, lands on desks, or is opened digitally, the WoodBook sparks ideas and conversations. Now widely recognised as the definitive guide to wooden surfaces, it’s often the first touchpoint for new customers and a trusted reference for our long-standing clients and partners. Now published three times a year in the UK alone, the WoodBook continues to inspire with each edition. Relied upon by architects, designers, developers, and property owners around the world, it’s a go-to design tool found within sample libraries, on studio bookshelves and displayed on coffee tables in collaborative workspaces.

Inside our own global offices and showrooms, the WoodBook is ever-present - a printed companion in the day-to-day rhythm of Havwoods. On the desks of our Product team, you’ll find previous editions alongside the latest WoodBook filled with notes and ideas scribbled in the margins. Our Sales consultants have their own personal copies, marked with post-it tabs for quick reference, while our Marketing team always have one in their backpacks ‘just in case’. The Business Development team keeps their supplies well-stocked for client visits, and even our Finance and Logistics teams can be found flipping through its pages during conversations with suppliers and customers. This year’s highlight was the launch of Lateral by Havwoods, our bold venture into furniture design echoing five decades of leading the way in the timber industry. Displayed in our new furniture showroom in the refurbished basement, visitors experienced our innovative one-piece kitchens, XL worktables and dramatic tabletops cut from immense timber slabs – this debut marked our exciting expansion from wood surface materials into statement furniture pieces. Equally notable was the unveiling of TreeAzzo, an eye-catching sustainable surface made by hand from high-quality resin mixed with wood chip wastage from the woodworking industry. Introducing a modern twist on classic terrazzo, the eco-friendly and on-trend TreeAzzo range brings texture, colour and character to any interior project and was a huge hit.

Clerkenwell Design Week Clerkenwell Design Week 2025 kicked off with a bang at the heart of London’s design district from the 20 th to the 22 nd May, with our recently refreshed flagship showroom hosting hundreds of industry professionals and design creatives, all drawn by the buzz of our new product releases and famous Havwoods hospitality.

There’s always a huge amount of excitement about Clerkenwell Design Week because it’s three days to absorb and learn while the creative juices are flowing. Julian Cotton, Head of Business Development Complementing the aesthetic appeal, we also showcased FlameLESS, our new fire‑rated engineered wood flooring. Independently tested and certified to meet EN 13501-1 Bfl-s1 classification, this range combines the stunning beauty of natural timber with advanced fire safety performance. The flaming panel display certainly captured people's attention and created interesting discussion as fire safety continues to rise up the agenda in the built environment. Alongside all the exciting new products, visitors immersed themselves in trend discussions, grabbed the latest edition of our WoodBook, and spoke with people from across our Business Development, Product, Showroom and Marketing teams. Clerkenwell Design Week may have concluded for 2025, but ripples of the conversations, creativity and innovation during those three days will be influencing the wood flooring industry for months to come!

The tranquility of the treehouse sanctuary For the third year running, we proudly sponsored Blue Forest’s remarkable treehouse installation, The Sanctuary, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Designed as a peaceful retreat, The Sanctuary offered visitors a moment of peace, connection, and reflection amid the bustling show. Every element of this beautiful space reflected a commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and well-being. In April, key members of our Product, Marketing and Business Development teams headed to the Fire Safety Event at the NEC Birmingham to launch FlameLESS - our groundbreaking Bfl-s1 fire-rated engineered flooring. With fire safety emerging as a critical concern in modern design, FlameLESS has been developed to combine the beauty of natural timber with advanced fire safety performance. Independently tested and certified to meet EN 13501-1 Bfl-s1 classification, this flooring delivers low flame spread (Bfl) and minimal smoke production (s1). This combination ensures not only compliance but also enhanced protection during emergencies, without compromising the wood’s natural character. Visitors to our stand - including industry professionals, fire‑safety experts, architects, and specifiers - were able to experience full size panels of FlameLESS first-hand and speak with our technical product experts. This marked our first time exhibiting at this

leading trade event, and the response to the launch of FlameLESS was overwhelmingly positive. “We’ve launched Flameless to meet the demands of the market,” said Anthony Scott, our Global Product and Innovation Director, “most flooring products or wood flooring products are D class or C class rated at best, but we’ve gone one step further and created a B classification product. The launch of FlameLESS is exciting because it introduces our six Hero colours: Cedro, Fendi, Amazon, Blanco, Quadro and Arena in fire-rated certification. Architects and designers can specify the colours that they love, but in a fully safety compliant product.” This launch underlines our ongoing commitment to innovation and safety. As fire regulations tighten, architects and designers need products that aren’t just compliant, but also beautiful and sustainable. FlameLESS delivers on all fronts – bringing peace of mind and design-led flooring together in one premium solution.

Embracing the property’s storied past, the homeowners undertook a comprehensive interior renovation - restoring the lodge’s original charm while introducing modern comforts. Space, storage, and light. It’s rare for a home that can deliver all three, but Casa on White hits the golden trifecta. Located in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, this existing Californian Bungalow was extended to accommodate the daily life of a family of four and their furry friend, Murphy. Cote Interiors sought to make the house more suitable to modern family living by adding a light-drenched extension featuring an open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area, a walk-in pantry/laundry room, and ample storage. Vaulting the ceiling was a decision made from the outset of the renovation. The once low and cramped back end of the house was transformed into a light, expansive, and incredibly inviting space.

In addition, the floor-to-ceiling steel frame doors maximise the natural light, seamlessly connecting the interior with the outdoor living area. To bridge the old and new sections of the house, Aspen Raw 13 from the Venture Plank range was chosen. With its blonde tone, natural grain and colour variations, this product fit the brief: home to two boys and a dog. The UV oil finish is guaranteed to withstand the realities of playtime, spills and scratches.
