Biola Broadcaster - 1964-05

blooms the year around. It doesn’t have any set season, not just Christmas and F4aster. So it should be with each of us. He is always available for us to come to Him. It doesn’t make any difference whether it is day or night. Finally He is called the Tree of Righteousness in Revelation 22:2. The things Christ tells us to do are for our ABOLISH PRAYER MEETING Drop the midweek service! What good is it anyway? We pray at home and on the job, W hy go to the church to pray? We have so many activities, Something will have to go— Parties and potluck suppers, Bowling and T V shows. Prayer's not too entertaining— Refreshments are never served. Few wish the place of groaning. A fact that's easily observed. So, drop the midweek service! Let's have the old prayer wheel, Or better yet a fluttering flag Let breezes our prayers reveal. While the flags are fluttering They'll lift unceasing prayer And we can sit relaxing A t home in our easy chair; Or we can spin our prayer wheel In our left hand while the right Firmly clasps the T V knob. Abolish prayer meeting night! Drop the midweek service! W ho goes to it? W ho cares, But the insecure and weaklings Who need those extra prayers. God doesn't want prayer meeting To hinder our lives this way— He'll surely vote we drop it. Quite pleased with our easy pray. W hat's vital about prayer meeting? W hy midweek virtues extol? I've only this observation— Drop it and endanger your soul! — R. W. Cooper good. You walk with the Saviour and He will make you a flourishing lovely Christian (Read Psalm 1). He wants you and me to be like Him. Let me urge you to come to Him not only as the Creator of the vegetable kingdom, but as the Saviour of your soul, Lord of your life and Master of your every thought and action.

Some people could see better in the day time if they didn't run around at night. * * * NO AUTOMATION A recent news report declares that about 10,000 computers wiU be in stalled in the United States during this year. Statistics reveal that each computer displaces about H workers. No doubt it’s this aspect of automa tion which causes some people grave concern. Biola is training young people, how ever, who can never be replaced by machines. The Gospel of our Lord Je sus Christ has been committed to human hands. The message of salva tion is proclaimed by the lips of dedi cated individuals who know and love the Saviour. Of course modem me thods are always employed such as the printed page and radio, broadening the opportunities of outreach. You are helping us not to build machines but to train spiritual leaders who wiU reap spiritual dividends now and in the years ahead. Gossips don't want to your advice they only want to use you as a wastebasket for their worries and problems. * * * Honesty is the best policy. Just make certain that the premiums never lapse! 26
