Les conséquences possibles sur les enfants et les adolescents et adolescentes, incluent entre autres : L’augmentation des troubles affectifs et comportementaux, des réactions de stress post- traumatique (souvenirs récurrents (flashback), cauchemars, sursauts au moindre bruit, crainte permanente d’un éventuel danger, etc.), risques accrus de blessures physiques ou de mauvais traitements (violence physique ou psychologique).
