THEODORE FINALLY GETS HIS SERVICE DOG
THÉRÈSE BISAILLON, PREMIÈRE CENTENAIRE AU MANOIR ROCKLAND
The two of them sure make a cute team! Some months ago, we brought you the emotional story of Theodore Philippe Koch, a young boy from Bourget who suffers from an extremely rare gene mutation. Named KCNH1, the latter is life threatening. This genetic mutation is so rare that only a handful of people have been diagnosed with it in the world, and Theodore is the first in Canada. Through a fundraiser, Theodore’s family was hoping to welcome a new family member, a service dog. The good news was announced last month. The boy’s newfound friend is named Ella and will soon be undergoing training in the United States. —supplied photo

Une centaine de résidents, ainsi que plusieurs invités, ont célébré le centième anniversaire de Thérèse Blanche Bisaillon, le 28 mars dernier. « Mme Bisaillon est notre première centenaire, au Manoir Rockland, a fait valoir Nancy Barreria, directrice du manoir. C’est une femme merveilleuse, affectueuse et patiente, qui a toujours quelque chose de gentil à dire aux autres. » Originaire de Montréal, Mme Bisaillon a vécu plusieurs années à Cornwall où elle a élevé sa famille. Elle a eu quatre enfants et est grand-mère de 17 petits-enfants et 15 arrière-petits-enfants. Plusieurs dignitaires ont remis des plaques et ont félicité Mme Bisaillon, y compris le député fédéral Francis Drouin, Jean-Marc Lalonde, représentant la députée provinciale Amanda Simard, et le maire de Clarence-Rockland, Guy Desjardins. —photo Francis Racine OVER 11 000 MEALS ON WHEELS DELIVERED

Alfred-Plantagenet Mayor Stéphane Sarrazin participated in the Prescott and Russell Community Services’ March for Meals initiative, which took place from March 18 to 22. In total, 11 198 meals were delivered to 206 clients throughout Prescott-Russell. —supplied photo
