LEGACY BUILDERS EDITION | VOLUME II

Built America Magazine

Her leadership philosophy rejects the old notion that pressure must become aggression.

Florida Palm’s growth plan is not defined by scale, it’s defined by purpose.

“I want a team that’s healthy,” she says. “I want a culture built on respect. I don’t want people screaming on job sites.” She is equally direct about women entering the field: “There’s room for us everywhere. From project management, superintendents, to accounting, marketing, and operations. We can be impactful across the board.”

“We’re planning to expand and widen our scope,” Ileana says. “But we love the niche we’re in. Commercial interiors, high-touch redevelopment —we want to be known for excellence in project management.” Technology and AI will accelerate that trajectory. “In a slow-changing industry, adapting technology early keeps us ahead,” she says. “For our size, we’re very forward-thinking.”

And to those still hesitant to hire women?

Her team feels the same momentum.

“They don’t have to be scared to bring women onto their team,” she says. “We add value.”

“We’re positioned well,” she says. “There are so many spaces that need a development touch. We’re looking forward to what’s next.” When someone walks into a space Florida Palm built, Ileana doesn’t hope they notice the finishes first—or the lighting—or the layout. 107
