In 2022, LAWA continued to implement waste reduction solutions outlined in its Zero Waste Roadmap. This included an increase in food donation and food waste recycling opportunities within the terminal areas at LAX, primarily through the expansion of the Organic Food Waste Recycling Program, conducted in partnership with Los Angeles Sanitation & Environment (LA SAN). A focus on organics collection has helped LAWA make significant strides toward statewide targets for reducing organics in landfills. Material Resources Management
