Should you allow us the privilege of hosting your ceremony here at Mandolay we will work with you to make sure that there is not a single missed step. Our wedding spaces are licensed for ceremonies of up to 500 guests and we o er indoor or outdoor choices.

The Gazebo Lawn Unique in Guildford and o ering the final word in ‘blank canvas’ potential, our Gazebo is set amidst manicured lawns and gently shaded by mature trees. The area is a natural suntrap, providing the quintessential English wedding setting, so close to the heart of town.

Bubbles and Bites is our celebration of the partnership between formal and informal; chilled Prosecco paired with a selection of chef’s hand made canapés… your very own garden party.
Time to Celebrate The Mandolay Suite is pillar free and capable of hosting a wedding breakfast for 300 and an evening reception for 500 guests. Quite simply, there is no similar venue in Surrey. Designed with sensational in mind, this suite delivers a completely self-contained venue for the ultimate celebration; grand in scale yet retaining an atmosphere that has to be experienced to be fully appreciated. Your guests will experience the wow of a dramatic entrance to the suite, beneath the stunning chandelier and on through the oak and glass double doors, the scale of the room never fails to impress even when empty, but when sumptuously decorated to your personal request… Just stand back and listen to the gasps of delight.
A Photograph for all the Ages The 11 th Century Guildford Castle is a wonderfully picturesque part of ‘Secret Guildford’, with gardens o ering a secluded and stunningly colourful backdrop for those very special photographs. Just five minutes from the hotel, you might wish to ‘divert’ the Wedding party for a few moments whilst guests enjoy a welcoming drink at Mandolay and await your arrival in style.
Because the Night is Made for Dancing
The evening reception. A time to relax and for your guests to let their hair down and dance like nobody is watching. As ever, it is your night and our resident DJ will play your selections from first dance to dance floor fillers; the music that is important to you, perhaps played to evoke memories of special times together or to remember absent friends. Keep the evening flowing with an elaborate bu et or enjoy toasted rolls at midnight and perhaps even a little nightcap for those who wish.
And so, to Bed… Included in our Signature wedding package, our Signature Suite will have been yours since the day before the celebration, the ideal sanctuary for all those last-minute details and arrangements, then preparing yourselves for the big day ahead with a full English breakfast.
On the day itself, you’ll have awoken fresh from a great night’s sleep under Egyptian cotton sheets, perhaps making use of the corner bath to luxuriate, gently swathed in complimentary Molton Brown bubbles.

Bar 36 and The Grill
Serving a range of fine teas and Nespresso co ees and complemented by a full menu featuring light snacks, nibbles and hearty lunch options, all served at the bar or on our heated terrace. At once comfortable and elegant, Bar 36 at Mandolay o ers an array of choices for even the most discerning guests and patrons. Speciality Gin, Vodka and Cocktail menus indicate a real point of di erence to standard hotel bars; indeed, our entire o ering proudly sets us apart from anything else in the area. Our principle of ‘Drink Less, Drink Better’ favours premium brands and perfect presentation over a more inclusive standard as is indicated by our choice of Stoli Vodka and Star of Beefeater Gin as our house pours. Fever Tree mixers provide the perfect accompaniment, and all our long drinks are presented to your preference.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Courtyard/Garden/ Terrace be used after Nightfall? No, due to our location once it’s nightfall our Gazebo Lawn and Surrey Suite Terrace are not accessible. Do you have Smoking areas? Although we are a non-smoking hotel, smoking and vaping are permitted at the front of the hotel.
Are you Licensed for Civil Ceremonies?
Do you allow Outside Catering? Absolutely! We o er a complete Dry Hire service. Please get in touch with our Wedding team to explore the advantages of our Dry Hire Wedding package. Do you charge Corkage if we supply our own Wine? Our Wedding packages are inclusive of wine service, however, should you prefer your own wine, our Dry Hire package might be most suitable, please just ask. How many People can you t on your Round Tables? Our 6 foot round tables have a capacity of up to 12 individuals, with an optimal seating arrangement for 8 to 10 people. Can we have Banqueting Style set up for our Wedding Breakfast? Certainly. Our Wedding Coordinator can discuss layout options with you. From what Time can we get Access to Decorate the Venue? 7:00am. What time does our Reception need to Finish by? 1:00am (Last song 12:50am). Do you have a Late Licence? Yes. We are able to host till 1:00am.
Are there Noise Restrictions if we have a Live Band? Live music is restricted at 10pm out of consideration for our neighbours. Do you have a Sound Limiter? Yes, a 110db limiter. All sound is controlled via the hotel sound system, no outside speakers are permitted.
Yes, we have four licensed spaces, including our Gazebo Lawn. The Mandolay Suite hosts up to 500 guests, the largest venue in Guildford that is not a Cathedral! Can we have the Wedding Ceremony Outdoors? Certainly! Our Gazebo Lawn, accommodates a maximum of 180 guests.
Are Fireworks allowed? No, they are not permitted.

Is Confetti allowed? Biodegradable confetti is allowed outdoors. Are Candles allowed? Certainly! Tea lights enclosed in votive holders are allowed. Do you permit Dhol Drums inside the Venue? Yes, we do! Can we have a small, Ceremonial Fire on our Mandap for our Indian Ceremony? Yes. Our past couples have performed the ceremony in the Mandolay Suite or on the Surrey Suite Terrace for a more intimate gathering.
There are several churches in the area and our Wedding Coordinator can review options with you. Where is the closest Registry O ce? Guildford Registry O ce Artington House, 42 Portsmouth Road Guildford, Surrey GU2 4DZ 0300 200 1002 Is there Parking on site? Yes, there is limited car parking on site as well as over 1,000 spaces within 5 minutes-walk of the hotel, including the G Live car park directly opposite us. Your Wedding Coordinator can provide a car parking map of Guildford to share with your guests.
We have 80 tastefully appointed, air-conditioned bedrooms including Junior Suites, all are fully equipped to meet the needs of the most discerning guests.
Is there a Honeymoon or Bridal Suite?
The Signature Suite is included as an exclusive component of our Signature Wedding package, and is available to book with all Wedding packages. The Suite o ers amenities such as a makeup and hair area, soaking tub, and additional floor area.
Is there Additional Accommodation nearby?
Yes, and your Mandolay Wedding Coordinator will be delighted to share information about other accommodation providers in the area. Can we have Exclusive Use of the Venue? Of course, and as always, your Wedding Coordinator will talk to you about the option
