NURSING (MENTAL HEALTH) SINGLETON PARK CAMPUS

This fully funded degree will train you to become a Mental Health Nurse, leading directly to a rewarding and highly-skilled career in a range of clinical and community settings.

Mental Health Nursing is a diverse and essential profession. At our excellent facilities, which provide realistic workplace simulations, you will learn the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to provide high quality, compassionate nursing care for improving mental health and wellbeing. You will learn to improve the care and treatment of people using mental health services, as well as their carers and their families. You will spend approximately half of your course on clinical placements in the NHS and independent sector, including community health care centres, hospitals and specialist settings for forensic, child and adolescent, drug and alcohol and older persons nursing, which will allow you to hone the practical skills you need to begin your career with confidence. Applying for Nursing When applying for this course, you should show that you understand the role of the mental health nurse and understand the importance of the NHS Wales values. Your application should explain why you think you'd be a good nurse and show your commitment to the profession.
