Key accountabilities: • Day to day management of the reactive and planed preventative maintenance and engineering functions delivered by the in-house technical teams and trade contractors, ensuring performance meets statutory compliance, industry standards and best practice requirements as applicable. • Plan and schedule Maintenance & Engineering in-house teams and the contracted trade resources to meet business requirements and the priority of activities across the property portfolio. • Management of the workflow activities and tasks for the Maintenance & Engineering teams operating through the CAFM (Concerto) system, utilising lean management principles and tools to maximise resource utilisation and reduce waste. • Management of the metrics in place to evidence statutory compliance maintenance activities together with ensuring an awareness and management of H&S hazards and risks is embedded and promoted throughout all service planning, work activities and team culture. • Management of 3rd party contracts with suppliers who support the Maintenance & Engineering function ensuring SLA’s and KPI’s are met and regularly reviewed through minuted meetings and action plans etc. This also includes the specialisation and tendering of Maintenance & Engineering contracts due for renewal within the standards set under corporate procurement guidelines. • As the lead Maintenance & Engineering technical expert project manage Maintenance & Engineering installation works. This may also involve the need to work as part of a wider team providing consultation on larger projects. This may include the sourcing of 3rd party specialist technical Maintenance & Engineering consultative work if required. • Establish procedures for the commissioning, testing and acceptance into service of Maintenance & Engineering installations at the various stages and manage the recorded documentation including trackers and hand over of operating and maintenance manuals etc. • Control of Maintenance & Engineering expenditure ensuring best value for the council and costs kept within budget forecast. • Provision of specification and costing of Maintenance & Engineering service quotes to sites that fall outside of the budget portfolio.

This role profile is non-contractual, only intended to be indicative and provided for guidance. It will be updated and amended from time to time in accordance with the changing needs of the council and the requirements of the job.

Purpose of role:

To lead the Maintenance & Engineering technical function and management of operational teams and 3rd party contractors delivering Hard FM services across the councils Property Services portfolio. The post holder will be responsible for the quality and standards of all Maintenance & Engineering work ensuring performance meets statutory compliance, industry standards and best practice requirements as applicable.
