Lot 274 Cell: 847 445-0077 Life in God’s Waiting Room Waiting rooms are not generally pleasant or enjoyable, often crowded with other impatient people you don’t know and seldom do you talk to anyone. Hospital waiting rooms are often places of anxiety, nervousness for a loved one, and yes, even a place of praying for a positive report or outcome. Airport waiting rooms are generally places of joy as you anticipate a trip and fabulous reunion with friends and family, unless marked by flight delays. I don’t like waiting rooms at car dealers, waiting to complete closing details, it often takes longer than making a deal, I want to drive the car! Life can seem like one large waiting room; anticipating some expected event or dream to be realized. I am writing this sitting in my home in Illinois where it is getting cold, looking forward to a great season at ORPS and warmth. Thanksgiving decorations have been out for a few days which remind us of the wait for Christmas. Receiving 2017 calendars also reminds us that Christmas is fast upon us. Life's waiting room is universal to all of us. Longed for events remind us that life is short. Never thought I would be longing to see 80 but life keeps moving and I hope to be alive for that celebration; only four years of waiting. Psalm 90 says we have 70 years of life, or, if due to strength, 80, then we fly away. The Psalmist says, because that is true, be careful to number your days gaining a heart of understanding and wisdom. There is a great waiting room to helps us deal with truth and understanding; you can find it every Sunday at 8:50 in La Palma. Surprise it’s Chapel. Join us as we wait and learn. Need proof of a waiting room being real in each of our lives? The Bible predicts times of war, famine, drought, wicked people ruling, earthquakes and floods, Matthew 24:6..These are signs that the end is near and Christ will return to earth to reign and conquer. Don’t miss the message that the wait is soon over. Hard to believe things could get much worse. The stage is set for the end to be fast reality.. Read the signs and be sure you are ready for Jesus return. Psalm 27:4 states: “wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart; wait I say on the Lord. God is sovereign and nothing happening in the world today takes Him by surprise. Waiting is not a time of passivity but activity. Be active discerning the signs He is giving us. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Make this time in your waiting room where you act on the truth of John 3:16.
Bible study will be having a prayer time on November 9 and then again December 7, 14 and 21. All are welcome at 9AM in the East Room. Bible Study … Armor of God … Begins January 11th, 9AM also in the East room. Books are $15 but not necessary. If you have always wanted a sister but never had one, PLEASE join us!! You will be blessed with 30 to 35 sisters in Christ.
