Cast your vote If you aren’t ready to join your area board, you can vote online for your preferred candidate. Vote before your region’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) using the FMB’s online voting site. Voting is quick and easy. The nomination timetable for members to join their area board will determine when voting opens in your region. See the table below for regional AGM dates and contact your local FMB Director for more details.

Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England, the FMB is governed by an elected, all-member board of directors, with day-to-day management led by the senior management team. Wherever you are based, there is an area board meeting for you to attend to discuss your experiences and challenges at a regional level. Your area board then advises the FMB on how best to support all members nationally. Why join your area board You benefit by growing your business network and sharing best practice with like-minded leaders of building companies. Stephen O’Neill, an FMB member in Coatbridge Scotland and Vice President of the Scotland Board, said: “It is great to meet to share ideas and discuss problems with fellow builders across Scotland. I’m a sole trader but my voice is of equal value to everyone else’s around the table. “Step up and get involved in your local FMB board. You are not just a member; you are part of a community influencing the future of the building industry.” How to support your area board Put yourself forward as a candidate in your region. Details on when this happens will be shared via the website, newsletters and in the community section of the FMB Members App. Speak with your local FMB Director if you
