LOGISTICS SECTION CHIEF

The Logistics Section Chief is responsible for providing resources to support the incident, including facilities, services, and material. Resource support may also include personnel and equipment. Resource orders are typically received from the Operations Section, after approval from the Incident Commander.

q Obtain briefing from the Incident Commander q Activate Logistics Section units as needed q Participate in preparation of the Incident Action Plan (IAP) q Identify known and anticipated service and support requirements for the incident q Establish the incident base q Provide incident base support personnel q Develop a security plan for incident facilities q Provide input to and review the communications plan, medical plan, and traffic plan q Supervise the Communications Unit and Medical Unit, if established q Coordinate and process requests for additional resources q Order, receive, distribute, and store supplies and equipment q Determine incident transportation needs and obtain resources q Coordinate food service for incident personnel q Coordinate sanitation services and provide incident personnel rest areas q Provide input to the demobilization plan q Maintain Unit Log (ICS 214)

FINANCE/ADMINISTRATION SECTION CHIEF

The Finance/Administration Section Chief is responsible for all financial aspects of the operation, and for personnel time keeping and claims processing. In addition this section coordinates the overall administrative needs of the incident.

q Obtain briefing from the Incident Commander q Activate section units as required q Work with the EOC Manager, if appointed q Determine administrative support requirements for the incident staff q Supervise the administrative function q Coordinate incident message traffic (see page 6) q Establish guidelines and procedures for making purchases or otherwise obligating funds to support the incident. Determine emergency purchase authority. q Review existing contracts and authorize additional contracts as needed

q Keep personnel time records and authorize overtime q Maintain financial records and track incident costs q Request supplemental funding, if necessary q Coordinate and process claims and requests for compensation q Maintain Unit Log (ICS 214)
