difference over time.
Every year, spring reminds us that growth is possible.
In the legal field, learning never stops. Laws change, new cases shape the rules, and better strategies are always being developed. Good attorneys understand that staying sharp requires constant learning and practice. “Spring reminds us that growth often starts small. A seed planted today does not become a tree tomorrow. But with steady care and time, it grows stronger every day.” I’ve been taking Spanish classes, and recently, our attorney, Jerry, spent a full week at the Trial Lawyers College, an intensive program focused on strengthening courtroom skills and trial advocacy. Programs like this push attorneys to practice, improve, and learn from other experienced lawyers. The goal is simple: become better at serving clients. Just as athletes train and musicians rehearse, lawyers must continue to practice their craft. Conferences, workshops, and training programs help attorneys build stronger skills, learn new techniques, and stay up to date in a changing legal world. That kind of growth doesn’t happen overnight. It comes from time, effort, and a willingness to keep learning.
After months of cold weather and bare trees, something begins to change. Flowers push through the soil. Trees grow new leaves. The days get longer and brighter. Nature seems to wake up and start again.
I created this workbook for you to document all the evidence you need to obtain a fair settlement from the insurance company after getting hurt in a wreck; things you may forget with time, like: • The accident details. • Witness information. • The progression of your pain and symptoms. • History of missed work and wages. • Names of doctors and dates of visits. • And more! Spring is a season of new growth.
But growth never happens by accident. In nature, and in life, growth requires effort and change. It requires trying new things, learning new skills, and sometimes stepping outside our comfort zone. For many of us, daily life gets busy. We focus on our routines, our work, and the responsibilities before us. While routines are helpful, they can also make it easy to stop growing. We do what we already know how to do, and we stick with what feels familiar. Spring is a good time to challenge that pattern. It is a chance to ask ourselves a simple question: What could I learn next?
Growth can take many forms. You might try something completely new, like a class, a hobby, or a skill you’ve always wanted to explore. You might also deepen your understanding of something you already do. Even small steps toward learning can make a big

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING
ADVOCACY THROUGH STORYTELLING
From March 1 through 6, our attorney, Jerry, attended the Trial Lawyers College Trial Skills program at Mo Ranch in Hunt, Texas. The program was led by experienced trial attorneys and attended by successful and intelligent lawyers. The course focused on telling your client’s story in a clear and compelling way. “I learned practical skills to more effectively present that story so that jurors not only understand the facts, but why those facts matter, in an authentic way,” Jerry said. He plans to use what he learned to present our clients’ cases more effectively at every stage. Jerry’s goal is to clearly articulate what our clients have suffered and how these events have impacted their lives for the jurors. A major focus of the program was keeping clients’ experiences at the center of the case.
“I cannot recommend Loyd J. Bourgeois and his team highly enough. From my very first
consultation, I felt like a person rather than just a case number. Dealing with an injury is stressful enough, but Loyd’s office handled the heavy lifting with professionalism and genuine empathy. They were always available to answer my questions and kept me updated every step of the way. If you want a lawyer who actually cares about your recovery, this is the place to go.” – Billie “The team working with me is very helpful and professional. They are consistent and reliable in making sure everything is done and that I am kept informed throughout the process.” – Summer When someone you love gets hurt, make sure they’re truly taken care of. Don’t let them become just another claim number. Have them call us at (985) 240-9773. We’ll make sure they get the support and guidance they need to move forward. • Bobbi Ortego • Kendell Smith, attorney • Salvatore LoVecchio, attorney • R. make sure they are heard,” Jerry said. This program differed from many similar courses because of its focus on the human element. Topics covered included the feelings people have and how to tell a story that puts someone in that moment. We are so lucky to have opportunities like this one that let our team learn and grow. Although we always try to learn, attending such an intensive course really makes a difference.

UNITED WAY VICTORY
We had a great time at United Way of St. Charles’s recent Victory Celebration. Loyd has served on the board for many years and recently completed
his second term as Campaign Co-Chair. Loyd was rather proud of their efforts as this year’s campaign was the second highest ever, only coming behind the post-Ida effort that played such an important role in rebuilding our community. We’re proud to support the work United Way makes possible across the parish, especially Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Loyd
was honored with the Tocqueville Award for funding the Imagination Library for all children in St. Charles Parish this year. Have a child aged 0 to 5? Scan the QR code to sign up and receive a free book delivered to your home every month.
CHOOSE GROWTH CONTINUED
Spring reminds us that growth often starts small. A seed planted today does not become a tree tomorrow. But with steady care and time, it grows stronger every day. The same is true for us. This season, consider taking a step toward growth. Learn something new. Try something you’ve been putting off. Or spend time improving a skill that matters to you.
You may be surprised by how much progress can be made from one small step. Just like spring, growth begins the moment we decide to try.
Un saludo,
