The new fitness room at Russell High School was officially opened with a ribbon- cutting ceremony on Monday, October 21. The existing fitness room and new equipment was moved to a better space and the wall painted behind to “rebrand” the room. The project was led by teacher Kevin Kennedy. Shown here are Kennedy, Shaelyn Trottier, Carleigh Trottier, Brooke Morningstar, Emily Edmonds, Hailey Bone, vice principal Mr. Bradley, and principal Shelley Corlyon. En partenariat avec Grandir BIO et le Centre de santé communautaire de l’Estrie, les élèves de 4e, 5e et 6e année, de l’École élémentaire catholique Notre Dame du Rosaire, à Crysler, ont construit trois bacs de jardin pour leur nouveau potager pédagogique. Au printemps, les élèves profiteront des ateliers saisonniers liés au curriculum d’Ontario, offerts par Grandir BIO, un projet de Cultivons Biologiques Canada – section Ottawa-St-Laurent-Outaouais. Ci-dessus, le directeur de l’école, Jacques Héroux, et l’agent de santé communautaire, Crysler et Embrun, François Séguin, entourant Laura Grady (4e année) et Mathieu Lafrance (6e année) qui commencent la construction de leur bac pour potager biologique.
