EMBRUN | No change to the property tax increase but residents may not see as big an increase to their water and sewer rates as was planned. Russell Township administration pre- sented council with an update brief on the 2014 municipal budget report during the Nov. 4 committee of the whole session. The brief noted that the proposed 3.48 per cent increase in the property tax rate should remain part of the 2014 budget. That will allow for a needed increase in the municipal levy portion of the budget to cover regular operation increases for town- ship services, program, and staff salaries along with a $170,000 increase to the infra- structure portion of the budget.
