Talent Management, Professional Development, and Succession Planning ESRT’s HR team regularly partners with managers to support colleague growth, development, and succession planning as part of a formal talent development strategy. We utilize a range of talent management tools such as the 9-Box framework, annual and mid-year performance reviews, goal setting, and 360-degree feedback to assess current and potential performance, identify future talent needs, and build a strong development pipeline. These tools help ESRT attract and retain top talent, support the growth of colleagues, and inform targeted action plans that align with our organizational goals. For the second year, we have hosted an interdepartmental committee to facilitate employee development at the people manager level. New this year, we implemented a Group Mentorship Pilot program with a focus on Personal Brand.

Empire Academy

Our Empire Academy program equips colleagues with educational resources, tools, and opportunities to support their professional and personal growth. The program offers regular job-specific and developmental seminars on a variety of topics that promote learning, awareness, and advancement. Signature events such as Meet the Board Member and Meet the Executive provide colleagues with the opportunity to ask questions to leadership and gain deeper insight into the strategic direction of ESRT.

Professional Development and Tuition Assistance

New Hire Onboarding Program

Our New Hire Onboarding program is designed to support a best-in-class employment experience and attract top talent. The program includes developmental conversations and is continually enhanced based on feedback from new hires. All new hires receive a comprehensive 30/60/90 Day Onboarding Plan and are paired with an Onboarding Buddy to facilitate collaboration and connection from day one.

ESRT provides professional development reimbursement for programs that enhance job knowledge, build skills, and provide networking opportunities with industry peers. We provide tuition assistance to corporate colleagues enrolled in courses related to their current roles and targeted career paths. We encourage our union colleagues to take advantage of union-provided continuing education to support ongoing growth and advancement.
