While the “Rubbermaid” style of mailboxes appear quite sturdy, they can be damaged from the snow thrown from a plow blade. To prevent any breakage, may we suggest you build a barricade between the mailbox and the thrown snow. It can easily be built using wooden or metal posts to secure the barrier in the ground.
