NEW IN LIMOGES! Professional Nutrition Counselling Services Nadia L Pagie is a Registered Dietitian in private practice and owner of “Limoges Nutrition”. She holds an Honors degree in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Ottawa and is a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario and Dietitians of Canada. She works as a nutrition counsellor and coach with individual clients specializing in general healthy eating, weight management and mindful eating. She can also help you manage or prevent chronic diseases such as heart diseases (cholesterol and high blood pressure), diabetes, food allergies/intolerances and digestive/bowel concerns. Nadia’s passion lies in teaching people how to enhance their health, energy and well-being through nutrition, physical activity, behaviour and lifestyle strategies. Dietitians are professionals uniquely trained to advise on diet, food and nutrition. A dietitian helps to translatescientificnutritioninformationintorealisticgoalsandhealthyfoodchoices.Theterm“registered dietitian” is protected by law for health professionals who have a Bachelor’s degree specializing in foods and nutrition and are members of a provincial regulatory body. A nutritionist is not protected by law so people with different levels of training and knowledge can call themselves “nutritionist”. How long is a nutritional session and what does it involves? The initial assessment is a 1 hour one-on-one appointment to assess your current diet and health status. Your past medical, family and diet histories, allergies and health concerns are reviewed to develop easy- to-follow personalized health goals. You will be provided with the education, resources, motivation and support you need to help you make permanent lifestyle changes. At the end of your appointment, you will walk away with clear objectives and a realistic and sustainable plan. Follow-up consultations are 30 minutes and provide on-going support by monitoring progress and discussing concerns. Do private insurance plans cover dietitian services? You can confirmwith your plan provider your maximum yearly and visit allowance.You will be provided with a receipt to submit a claim for reimbursement. Do I need a doctor's referral to see the dietitian? No. However, your private insurance plan may require a doctor’s referral in order to cover the services provided by a registered dietitian.
