USA WOMEN’S AMERICUP TEAM 2025 RESULTS

The United States returned to the top of the podium at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, held June 28–July 6 in Santiago, Chile. Behind a group of collegiate standouts, the USA went 7-0 to secure its fifth AmeriCup gold medal all time. The Americans opened play with a 108-47 win over host Chile, fueled by a 21-0 first-half run. Raegan Beers scored 22 points with seven rebounds, Joyce Edwards added 19 points and Mikayla Blakes chipped in 15. Stifling defense carried the United States past Colombia, 80-43. The USA led 48-19 at halftime, with Blakes scoring 15 points and Olivia Miles nearly posting a triple-double with 11 points, eight assists and eight rebounds. Puerto Rico pushed the Americans in their third game, but a 25-8 third quarter helped secure an 80-62 victory. Miles again flirted with a triple-double (9 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists), while Gianna Kneepkens scored 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range. The USA clinched the top spot in Group B by defeating Mexico, 104-48. Miles set a USA Basketball FIBA Women’s AmeriCup record with 10 assists, while Kneepkens scored 20 points. In the quarterfinals, the Americans tied their AmeriCup record with 31 team steals en route to a 110-44 win over the Dominican Republic. The team also tallied 32 assists, with six players in double figures. Flau’jae Johnson scored 22 points and Hannah Hidalgo added 17 points, nine assists and five steals. Canada challenged the USA in the semifinals, handing the team its first halftime deficit of the tournament. Hidalgo responded by scoring or assisting on 15 of the USA’s 20 third-quarter points. The Americans held Canada to five fourth-quarter points and advanced, 72-58. The USA also set a program record with 10 blocked shots in the game. In the gold medal game, the United States avenged its 2023 loss to Brazil with a 92-84 victory. Brazil led by seven early in the third quarter before the USA closed the period strong and dominated the fourth, outscoring Brazil 27-18. Blakes paced the USA with 27 points, Hidalgo added 16 points and seven rebounds, and Miles dished nine assists. Blakes was named tournament MVP. Hidalgo earned All-Star Five honors, and Miles was selected to the second team.
