OUTDOOR RESORT PALM SPRINGS Membership Survey Vision/Mission Statements/Core Values Page 16

185. Sense of community is gone. This resort is being run by a cult and that is Pickleball. I'm not against the sport. I'm glad to see people out playing a sport. I'm against the way they come into a resort and take over. I'm against the Pickleball Association the way they send their people into a resort and take it over. Once they are in, they start slowly taking over and start brainwashing people to their way of thinking. The people voted to bring Pickleball in and all they wanted was two courts, which tennis agreed to give them two ES courts. A year or so down the line they aren't satisfied with that they want the other two courts at ES which they get. Now they aren't satisfied with the quiet ball; they approach the board to be able to use the hard ball. The board agrees. The vote of the people of ORPS now doesn't mean anything. We voted on the quiet ball. Why didn't the people get to vote on whether to change to the hard ball? Now they not only have destroyed the best tennis program in the valley they have now changed the quiet serenity of the park, which is one reason many people bought into this park. Keep in mind what they are working towards is to have tournaments here. Think about the traffic that will bring into the resort. Those courts hold 60 plus players. Say half is ORPS and the other half are outsiders. That is possibly 30 cars. Has anyone given any thought to that? Half of the activities are being put on by Pickleball. At one point half the board had ties to Pickleball. Will someone wake up this is not a sport it is a cult and it is running this park. 186. The vision statement doesn’t hold true. I’ve heard so many people complain about satellite laundry machines not working - lights not being replaced - cracks and tiles broken. There is no mutual respect when rules don’t get followed. There is such a lack of communication and again such a hostile environment with the dog issues year after year after year - I saw some man take his dog for a walk just today and he let him poop on someone’s private green space. No water was being carried. So there still such a lack of communication to renters about our dog rules. And to even ignorant owners who don’t respect them. 187. Well stated and very good focus. 188. Although the vision statement makes it clear what the Board desires for this resort, the actions of the board are not in agreement. Our facilities are in constant state of disrepair, and the board offers excuses. The resort should strive to be the premier resort COMMUNITY not a short stay campground. Board members take no action when they see violations with respect to all violations. For example, storage lockers that are 5ft by 5ft and 2ft deep right across from a board members lot. We need to ensure compliance of all rules, bylaws and that the CC& R’s are enforced and that guidance and enforcement needs to start at the top. Directors that openly violate CC&R’™s and no comment from the remainder of the board gives me great concern. 189. Restaurant needs some updating and look after Bella Roma they do a great service. 190. NOT CERTAIN THE STANDARDS ARE MET ON A CONSISTANT BASIS. 191. We love it here:); it’s beautiful and well maintained. I do wish when the lawn maintenance people come to cut lawn, they would sweep up their lawn clippings they got on my patio as I keep it very clean. 192. Laundries don't work, garbage area is discussing, I'm surprised we don't have rats. We have let the public area go "to the dogs" and is terrible.
