LEGO Moves Toward 100% Sustainability reported by Greg Kishbaugh TT he LEGO Group announced that it is aiming for 100 percent sustainable packaging by 2025. Currently, the majority of LEGO packaging, by weight, is cardboard or paper-based, which is recyclable, sustainably sourced and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Registration Open For Labelexpo Registration for the 16th edition of Labelexpo Americas is now open. Set to take place once again at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Cen- ter, Rosemont, Illinois, from Septem- ber 25-27, this event will feature a packed two-day conference sched- ule, an Ecovillage and, for the very first time, an Automation Arena. Part of the Labelexpo Global Se- ries since 1989, the biennial Label- expo Americas is an established platform for print professionals, brand owners, label and packaging designers and associated graphic in- dustry suppliers. Explore Your Future The key focus of the 2018 edition — “Explore Your Future” — will be future technology and environmen- tal issues in the sector. The 2018 show is again supported and by the trade bodies TLMI, ACOBAN, AIM- CAL,AIPIA, FTA and FSEA. Spread across five exhibitions halls, more than 400 exhibitors will be taking part over the three days.

“To support our com- pany mission, we have a Planet Promise and we have pledged to play our part in protecting the planet for future genera- tions,” said Tim Brooks, Vice President Environ- mental Responsibility at the LEGO Group. “Using sustainable packaging is an important part of ful- filling that promise. By bringing forward our am- bition or sustainable packaging, we are also acknowledging the need to find better packaging solutions sooner.
