Together, these functions strengthen data-driven decision-making across primary care, enabling PCNs and practices to better understand their populations, address variation, and prioritise quality improvement initiatives. Using data, clinicians and operational teams can identify variation in care delivery, highlight areas of unmet need, and prioritise targeted interventions. For example, analysis of long-term condition prevalence, screening uptake, or urgent care usage can inform resource allocation, service design, and preventative approaches to care. Data also supports performance monitoring and quality improvement by enabling services to track progress against key indicators, benchmark against local and national comparators, and evaluate the impact of changes over time. This ensures that decisions are not only responsive but also measurable and outcome focused. In addition, providing accessible and interpretable data empowers teams at all levels to engage with information, ask informed questions, and take ownership of improvement activity. This fosters a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous learning. 2.22 Health & Safety (H&S) / Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC) Support Service NPC’s Health & Safety Manager provides invaluable support to member practices in meeting health and safety compliance with regulations and laws.
