The session was further enhanced by contributions from members of the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group Executive Team, who outlined current operational pressures within acute services and shared their strategic vision for the continued development of integrated, community-based models of care. Supporting the delivery of neighbourhood health remains a central priority for both NPC and the wider health and care system.
This approach is aligned with national and local transformation ambitions to deliver joined-up, proactive, and person-centred care closer to home, improving patient outcomes, reducing health inequalities, and strengthening collaboration across primary, community, and acute services. This model also supports the sustainable use of healthcare resources by ensuring care is delivered in the most appropriate setting. 2.32 NPC Carrow Road Primary Care Event On 06 June 2025, NPC hosted a system-wide engagement event bringing together leaders and representatives from across Primary Care and the wider health and care system. The event provided an important platform to recognise and reinforce the central role of Primary Care in delivering high-quality, accessible services and in supporting the sustainability of the NHS. The programme included contributions from a range of senior leaders, including the Chief Executive of the local Integrated Care Board and the Chair of the NHS Confederation. Their insights highlighted the current challenges facing the health system, alongside the opportunities presented through greater collaboration, integration, and innovation.
