possibility of living a life that will count not only each week during the year, but also for eternity, because the Christian will be bearing the everlasting fruit of the Spirit. We can make every moment of our lives count by placing our all on the altar and saying with Paul: “For to me to live is Christ.” Then we receive our Lord’s answer: “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Heb. 13:5). Thus gar risoned by His presence, we shall be able •to live supernatural lives that will be in accordance with the high requirements of our loving, holy Lord. A Christian was being beaten by a heathen tyrant. His oppressor asked him, “What great matter did Christ ever do for you?” “Even this,” answered the Christian, “that I can forgive you, though you use me so cruelly.”— S elected . II. God’s plan and purpose in this regard had been hidden from those of Old Testament days, but by His Spirit He revealed them to Paul. The Apostle Paul realized the exalted place which the church had in the great program of God. The true church is com posed of all regenerated persons, and their relation to Christ is so close and so vital that He calls them His body. The church composed of all believers is also called “a holy temple” for “a habitation of God through the Spirit” (Eph. 2:22). The body of believers is a highly important factor in the plan of redemption, for Christ loved the church enough to purchase it with His own precious blood. Although Paul knew that he was highly favored in the revelation of the church mystery, yet he was very humble, calling himself “less than the least of all saints.” However, He was so thoroughly submit ted to the will of Christ that he knew “the eternal purpose which he [God] pur posed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Paul was therefore a channel through which the Helps for the Leader I.
