Southern Province - Florida: Benjamin I. Clark (Zeta Phi 2017)

Benjamin I. Clark is a Fall 2017 initiate of the University of Florida Chapter, the Zeta Phi of Kappa Alpha Psi ® . Mr. Clark is a fifth year Political Science major with a minor in Computer Science. Mr. Clark is a transfer student from the Florida State Community College at Jacksonville, where he spent four years before obtaining his Associates in Arts Degree. Not having been a stellar student in high school, Mr. Clark initially worked straight out of high school which helped him put life into perspective and find a drive to go complete his education. Mr. Clark’s ultimate goal is to successfully launch his own software start-up company, which he is currently

working towards by establishing an LLC. Upon graduation, he hopes to secure a position as a Project or Program Manager for a major tech company. During his time as an undergraduate, he found a passion in helping to organize and execute projects, and he realized combining that with his interest in computer technology would be his ideal job.

Mr. Clark currently serves as Lt. Strategus, Co-Community Service Chair, Fundraising and Marketing Chair, and Webmaster for his home Chapter. In these capacities Mr. Clark is helping to set up many service events for his Chapter to put on and help uplift the Gainesville, FL community as well as spread his Chapter’s message. He also serves on the Executive Board of the University of Florida’s Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers as the Benton Engineering Council Representative. In this role he is able to coordinate events with other engineering organizations in conjunction with his own. Mr. Clark is an avid fan of his home team Jacksonville Jaguars and also loves the Miami Heat, and plays fantasy football and basketball yearly. He loves comic book movies and Japanese culture, and has been studying Japanese for two years.

Western Province: Zarian Williamson (Rho Beta 2017)

Brother Zarian Williamson is a Spring 2017 initiate of the California State University, Monterey Chapter, the Rho Beta of Kappa Alpha Psi ® . He is currently a Senior Biology Major with a Minor in Chemistry. After gradu- ation this coming spring, Brother Williamson plans to work and research before pursuing medical school. With his medical degree, he plans to practice medicine in historically underserved communities in order to aid in eliminating the racial and ethnic inequities that exist within our healthcare system. His interest in healthcare stems from is passion to help people and specifically his desire to increase people’s quality of life.

Brother Williamson displays this desire with his actions in his community. As a member of the American Medical Student Association Chapter on his campus, he volunteers to assist physicians in providing healthcare to houseless patients. For two years, he worked as a Resident Advisor mentoring sixty plus freshman students each year. He also served on his campus’ NAACP execu- tive Board as Health Committee Chair for two years in this role he successful advocated for the Flint Water Crisis and hosted a Get H.Y.P.E. event on his campus.

During his short year in kappa, Zarian scored the highest on the MTA exam out all undergraduates in his province, which afforded him the opportunity to go to Orlando during the 83 rd Grand Chapter Meeting. That same province council, he was elected to the position of Western Province Lt. Strategus. Zarian also served as the Vice-Polemarch of his Chapter. On his down time, Zarian loves to watch sports, travel and read.
