Grand Board Member Ivan Garcia (Kappa Alpha 2016)

I van Garcia, a Las Vegas native. He is a Fall 2016 initiate of the Illinois State University Chapter, the Kappa Alpha of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Dur- ing his undergraduate career, he served as the chapter’s Vice Polemarch and also lent a helping hand by coordinating community service opportunities, and social and develop- mental programs. Ivan was an involved student leader on campus serving in several different organizations.

He was the President of the Black and Latino Male Movement, Resident As- sistant for University Housing Services, served as the Junior Representative on the Student Advisory Board, and was a Mentor for the M.A.S.A.I. Mentoring Program. He had an overall impactful presence on campus. Ivan was able to maintain a 4.0 grade point average throughout his college career.

Brother Garcia is a first-year graduate student at Indiana University pursuing his master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. He is also in the bilingual-track program. Post-graduation, Ivan plans on working with patients who have suffered from a stroke and have lost the ability to produce speech, comprehend speech or have difficulty with their swallowing. He also would like to work with Spanish-speaking children. His dream is to end up working in a hospital as a bilingual speech-language pathologist.

Grand Board Member Christopher Raxton (Delta Pi 2015)

C hristopher Raxton was born on October 16, 1996, in Douglasville, GA. Christopher completed his elementary through high school education in Douglasville, GA then traveled to the Midwest to attend Michigan State University for his undergraduate career. While at Michigan State University, Brother Raxton was an ambassador, social media marketing chair, and mentor for the Residential Business Program, Mentor for the African American Student Mentoring Program, and member of the Multi-

During his second year of undergraduate, in the Fall of 2015, Christopher was initiated into the Delta Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. Christopher has held the position of Lt. Strategus and Keeper of Records for the chapter. Christopher now holds the role of undergraduate grand board member. Brother Raxton currently is a 1L student at the Florida A&M College of Law in Orlando, Florida.
