TLMI Members Connect With Customers by Greg Kishbaugh TT he Tag and Label Manufacturer’s Institute held its annual Converter Meeting last week in Asheville, North Carolina. The meeting saw a huge surge in first-time attendees, with more than a third of the attendees counting this as their first.
Golden West Acquires Allpak
Golden West Packaging Group LLC, Sacramento, California, a hold- ing company for packaging busi- nesses, formed in 2017 by private investment firm Lindsay Goldberg, has acquired Allpak Container. This represents GoldenWest’s third acquisition following its February 2017 acquisition of five Northern California-based packaging manufac- turers (Cal Sheets; Capital Corrugat- ed; Heritage Solutions; Packaging Innovators; and Package One), and its February 2018 acquisition of Southern California-based Fleet- wood-Fibre Packaging & Graphics. Customized Flexo Allpak Container designs and man- ufactures high-end consumer pack- aging and industrial packaging for more than 450 customers in agricul- ture, beauty, beverage, commerce, food, health, industrial, recreation, and wine and spirits markets.Allpak serves customers in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia from its two
The TLMI Converter Meeting attracted record attendance, including a huge influx of first-time attendees.
The meeting began with a keynote from leadership author Chester Elton who focused his presentation on how apprecia- tion can transform companies and deeply affect it culture. Elton shared a quote from Bill Emerson, CEO, Quicken Loans, to illustrate the importance of establishing a corporate cul- ture.“If you don’t create a culture at your company, a culture will create itself, and it won’t be good. If it hasn’t been nur- tured, you can assume it’s the wrong culture.” Elton stated that “when you walk into a great culture, it smacks you in the face with its concreteness.” (Cont’d on Page 5)
