What is your greatest professional accomplishment? Above all, I am super proud to say that I was a part of a $184,000,000 sale of apartment assets. As a close second milestone, I received my second National Achievement Award and was ranked number one overall in the Bal - timore office. How do you contribute to your company and/or the industry? My greatest contribution to Marcus & Millichap is my successful brokerage business that I built from the ground up simply by focusing on my client’s needs and objectives. Importantly, I strive to achieve the highest prices possible for my clients by focusing on strategic marketing and thorough negotiations. Lastly, I also lead a team of agents who specialize in apartment sales which contributes to the greater company’s efforts in apartment sales. Who or what has been the stron- gest influence in your career? One of the greatest influences, and si - multaneously one of the greatest benefits to creating a career in investment real es - tate is the guidance, mentorship, and ex - ample set by countless sophisticated and wealthy real estate investors. Because of the foundational mentorship opportuni - ties in this industry, I am able to provide thoughtful advice to my clients because of the countless lessons that I have been taught along the way as an agent. After all, I strongly believe that a person will be as successful as the five people they spend the most time with. MAREJ Sean Brown First VP Investments Marcus & Millichap Years with company/ firm: 8 Years in field: 8 Years in real estate industry: 10 Real estate organizations/ affiliations: National Multi-Housing Group and influenced my core perspectives on commercial real estate. They were the ones that gave me a chance, and allowed me to actively participate in their livelihoods, and these relation - ships progressively blossomed into mentorships. Those mentorships then morphed into valuable friend - ships and close client relationships where I can be their trusted fiduciary and advisor. Outside of commercial real estate, my father had a significant impact on my life. He strongly influenced my professional development in sales and in the “art of negotiation,” fully supporting my entrepreneurial spirit. My father was my very first mentor and employer who paved my founda - tional road map for success. MAREJ continued from page 2D Craig Dunkle, First VP Investments

What is your greatest profes- sional accomplishment? For myself, I tend to define my successes in this industry by hitting defined goals and metrics, I have a few notable personal accomplish - ments I’d like to mention: Achieving my goals for the first two years in Brokerage, receiving the Pacesetter Award (completed 4,000 calls, 20 BOV’s, and secured 2 exclusive list - ings in my 1st 16 weeks), achieving top 10 in the region within 18 Months, and closing 30 Deals since Starting in August of 2020 between $250,000 to $68,000,000. How do you contribute to your company and/or the industry? I feel that my greatest contribution comes with connecting buyers and sellers to achieve their goals regard - ing acquisitions and dispositions of multi-family properties across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Geor - gia. I feel that it’s truly important toalways put the needs and goals of my clients first because it’s true that when the clients succeed, I succeed. Who or what has been the stron- gest influence in your career? My Senior Broker, William Graves and Regional Manager, Benjamin Yelm have helped me develop my skillset as a broker which has been crucial in growing my business. I am eternally grateful for their guidance, support, and mentorship. Because of these two, I am an accomplished, suc - cessful businessman. MAREJ Marcus & Millichap Years with company/ firm: 2 Years in real estate industry: 3 Real estate organizations/affiliations: National Multifamily Group / National Manufactured Housing Group What unique qualities and or personality do you feel makes you most successful in your profession? You really have to hustle to make it in this business, and remaining goal- driven is key. Maintaining that level of ambition then became a passion, which is what I developed, and now I live and breathe real estate. Some days can be hard but if you are resilient and never give up you will come out with a win. I apply this mentality to all my deals and goals in life. Everything in life is achievable, it’s just a matter of if you want to put in the work to get it. What challenges and or obstacles do you feel you needed to overcome to become as successful as you are today? One of the biggest challenges I had early on in my career was my age. I was on my own in the business and people often referred to me as the “kid”. continued from page 2D

What is your greatest professional accomplishment? I really take pride in the quantity of properties I have sold because I feel that it accurately reflects my relentless and consistent sales and networking efforts. I am fortunate to have sold over 135 hotels, in 13 states, in 7 years. I am humbled and proud to say that I finished in the top 5 for all hospitality agents in Marcus & Mil - lichap in 2021 as well as achieved chair - man’s club – which requires $2,500,000 in gross fees per calendar year. How do you contribute to your company and/or the industry? I feel that my greatest contribution to Marcus & Millichap is through helping clients achieve their life goals through re - financing, selling, and purchasing assets. My goal is to be a trustworthy advisor to my clients, making sure that I facilitate the most efficient protocol, allowing each to achieve their ideal financial lifestyle and freedom. All in all, I appreciate any opportunity to help younger agents grow day in and day out to be the best they can be. Who or what has been the strongest influence in your career? My father, as he has given me the tools to not only succeed, but be my best self, every day. His years of guidance and wis - dom have helped carry me through trying times in life and, especially in the real estate business. His example has been instrumental in my ability to work with clients and put their needs first. Because of my father, I know when they succeed, I succeed. MAREJ I decided to interview for a position as an agent. Within the first few weeks of training, I was pulled into this new world I had never known before and never looked back. However, if you were to ask my grandfather, sales - manship runs in our blood, so I’m not surprised that I was drawn to this business. What inspiring word of advice would you give to a young ex- ecutive graduating from college today? Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to get it right as soon as you graduate. I was lucky. It often takes time to figure out what your passion is. Don’t settle. The most successful people are those that work in a field they love. What is your greatest profes- sional accomplishment? I take pride in the transition I made from my earlier career in industrial operations with a Fortune 500 company into the real estate industry. After graduating from the University of Ala - bama, I spent several years in the steel industry. Fortunately, I decided to tap into my passion for real estate in order to create a better life for my family and for myself. I am so thankful that the doubt and uncertainty did not keep me from getting my real estate license and starting a successful career with Marcus & Millichap. How do you contribute to your company and/or the industry? Utilizing the knowledge and tools provided by Marcus & Millichap al - lows me to be a student and a teacher, simultaneously. On the other hand, something that sets me apart from others at Marcus & Millichap is the experiences I have taken away from my previous career in a completely differ - ent industry. My work in the industrial space gives me a unique perspective that I can share with my current co - workers, prompting engaging ideas and conversation. Who or what has been the stron- gest influence in your career? The Dunkle-Vartanian Group and my Regional Manager have both strongly influenced my career. I contribute much of my success to my team and the guid - ance I have received from management at Marcus & Millichap. MAREJ I knew I had to have some sort of edge on everyone so I drowned myself with information in my market, knowing every single deal that sold in and out and making more calls/meetings than anyone in my office. What was the most defining mo - ment for you? My most defining moment is my next deal. I feel like you are only as good as what you are currently working on. The best is yet to come and I will continue to grow and become better at what I do. What inspiring word of advice would you give to a young ex- ecutive graduating from college today? Whatever profession or career you choose, give it your all. Put your head down and work harder than anyone in the room. You need to be coachable so ask as many questions to anyone sea - soned in your office and have a mentor to show you the ropes. MAREJ
