Floor coverings by FloorForm
FloorForm was awarded the contract to supply and install floor coverings throughout AMIC, including sheet vinyl, carpet tiles and Junckers timber. The flooring solutions provider also carried out preparation works including grinding and installation of a damp proof membrane and smoothing compound. Mark Burns, Contracts Manager, says, “The job went well, and we had no major challenges. For this project, we installed Altro and Gerflor vinyl sheet and Milliken carpet tiles, all of which look and preform extremely well, but the standout finish was the Junckers wooden flooring installed on the floor and also on feature tiered seating.” Founded in 1985, FloorForm Group supplies flooring solutions to the construction industry throughout the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. Fall protection by K Contracts K Contracts was tasked with providing a fall protection solution for fragile covers on the roof of the new Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC).

The Carryduff firm is a long-established provider of roof safety solutions, with its solution for the AMIC build recognised as ideal for edge protection across many projects. Cathal Kerrigan, Owner, says, “The solution
provided was a handrail which did not require any penetrations on the roof and featured a non-trip element, reducing its overall footprint.” The installation was without any issues for K Contracts. “The site team was very helpful in outlining its requirements and facilitating the works on site,” says Cathal.
