LYNCH’S EUROSPAR CAW, CO DERRY PROJECT PROFILE
Groundworks by D Tourish Ltd
A full civil engineering and groundworks package, including the building substructure, was delivered by D Tourish Groundworks & Construction Ltd. The civil contractor conducted bulk excavation works including a cut- and-fill exercise, followed by drainage and foundation works before bringing the shop footprint up to floor level. Working alongside specialist installers in preparation for the installation of the fuel tanks, fuel pumps and canopy, D Tourish then progressed onto kerbing, footpaths, retaining walls, fencing and final preparation works for tarmac surfacing of the forecourt and car park. A rewarding project for the contractor, it ran smoothly due to efficient coordination. Damien Tourish, Director, says, “One of the main challenges involved managing the deep excavations and cut-and-fill works while maintaining a safe and fluid site operation. Through careful site management, phased works and close coordination with all contractors, we were able to keep the project progressing efficiently and safely at all stages. We have built up a strong working relationship with McKelvey Construction through previous projects, and that continued here with excellent cooperation and professionalism throughout.”
