4.17 Do you have unlimited usage of Mobile Devices in the workplace or while on SEKO business? SEKO is committed to promoting responsible and safe use of mobile devices by its employees while they are on SEKO business or on the workplace premises. USE OF MOBILE DEVICES WHILE DRIVING Employees should be aware that SEKO does not promote the use of mobile devices while operating a vehicle. Use includes, but is not limited to, talking on the phone, texting, instant messaging, using the internet, e-mailing, etc. Safety must come before all concerns; under no circumstances should employees place themselves or others at risk to fulfill business needs, and an employee should never break the law to text while driving or talk on a phone while driving absent a hands-free device. business purposes, should refrain from using their mobile device while driving. In all cases, an employee is expected to follow local and state laws regarding the use of mobile devices and/or an integrated Bluetooth System while driving. Employees will be solely responsible for any traffic violations resulting from improper use. USE OF MOBILE DEVICES IN THE WORKPLACE Employees are to exercise the same discretion in using personal mobile devices as they do for SEKO phones and business equipment. The personal use of a mobile device in the workplace is permitted as long as the use is infrequent, of short duration, and does not interfere with your normal work. It is strongly suggested that you limit the personal use of a mobile device to your breaks and lunch period. Participating in personal instant messaging and accessing the Internet for personal reasons during your scheduled shift is discouraged. As technological advances continue to expand the functions of mobile devices, employees are advised that any unauthorized use of such devices at work to record, take pictures or videos and/or to transmit same may well be a violation of federal and state criminal laws and, regardless, will not be tolerated. Employees should also be aware that communications over mobile devices are not necessarily confidential; it is possible that outside parties could tap into those communications. If you need to communicate about a highly confidential matter, please try to use a more secure method of communication. The use of a mobile device is not a work requirement for most employees. Unless SEKO provides you with a mobile device allowance, it will not reimburse you for the cost of using your personal mobile device for business purposes. Additionally, SEKO will not be liable for the loss of personal mobile devices brought into the workplace.
