THE K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S he is enrolled in the Bible school, has become a member in th e Open Door Church, and is preparing for life service among those deluded people from whom God in infinite mercy and grace has eternaliy saved him. ip! .5?% SHOP WORK M. H. REYNOLDS, Supt. GOD DOES ANSWER PRAYER, and we are sure you, who have been holding th e work up in prayer, will rejoice w ith us in our victory. For th e past th ree years, it has been laid upon our h earts to pray for a building in one of the larg est shops in th e city. F o r years we have been going to th is place, bu t w ith.som e th ree hundred men scattered about a large yard and w ith only a half hour for noon, it has been difficult to arrang e a meeting for them . Despite th is fact, however, the Gospel has been presented for five or ten m inutps and then th e men have been talked to per sonally. New Building P rovided However, God was no t unm indful of our requests and so in answer to our prayers we now have, standing in th e m idst of th is large yard, a well equipped house, which the m anager tu rned over to our use on Friday. Here we have th e privilege of gathering the men to gether and now instead of a short halt hou r we have a full hour in which to p resen t th e Gospel. If you could see th is eager group of men, you would th a n k God th a t He has been so good to us and to them as to perm it them th is extra tim e and place to receive th e message. One often wonders if the mess;age is really taking effect. This word of encouragement came this week: R esults Revealed A t th e close of th e service last F ri day, a young man stepped up to the w riter and pu tting his hand out, said, “ Reynolds, I’vo taken Him as my Saviour. I never spent a happier week th a n ,th is last one.” When asked how he came to do it, he said, “ I have heard your messages here week afte r week, and have wanted to take th is step for a long time. L ast F rid ay when you spoke on ‘Safety F irs t’ I said, I am going to do th a t. I w ent to a. revival th a t n igh t and w ent forward, and say, I am certainly glad I did.” . P raise th e Lord; when things get hard and black, and it looks as though
nothing could be done, then our Lord says, “A sk -g reater things th an th e se!”" afc a » BIBLE WOMEN’S WORK MRS. LYMAN STEWART, Supt. I wonder if those teaching our young people have any conception of the stum bling blocks they pu t in th e ir way when they cause them to doubt' th e tru th of God’s word. In talking w ith a young college girl recently, she said to me, “I didn’t know any b etter th an to believe th a t th e Bible m eant ju st what it said un til my last year in high school when I was ta u g h t evolution; then I began to doubt, and now I don’t know where I stand .” I thought of th e woes pronounced by our Lord against those th a t cause one of “ these little ones” to stumble. It took months to lead th e dear girl to -Christ, and now th a t she is saved she must learn her Bible all over, and many are th e b itter struggles in her h eart because of the absolute antagonism between th e Word of God ac. it is and th e Word of God as it is trimm ed and m utilated to make it fit the doctrine of evolution ta u g h t to most of our high school boys and girls today. Varied Opportunities The Bible woman’s work is exceed ingly varied, and many are th e task s she is called on to perform . In one instance, th e Bible woman called on an old lady nearly eighty years of age, and found th a t she had ju s t made her will, and was perplexed as to where she would find a second w itness, th e land lady having volunteered to be one. Of course th e Bible woman accommodated her, and thus an excellent opening was made for conversation w ith th e old lady regarding her soul. She was unsaved, bu t the work of th e Lord Jesus on th e , cross for sinners was made clear to her, and she accepted and confessed Him as her Savior. On being told to read her Bible daily, th a t she m ight learn more about JesUs, heaven and eternal life, she replied, “ I have no Bible here.” A second visit was made to lend her a Bible, b u t in th e meantime she had bor rowed one from th e landlady, so eager was she to learn more of Him whom she had ju st come to know. W hat One H andbill Did The women of a Bible class became deeply interested in th e w elfare of th e neighborhood in which they lived, and decided to invite an evangelist to hold
