WorldStar Packaging Award Winners Announced TheAustralian Institute of Packaging announced that 11 Australian and New Zealand companies have been recognized with 13 wins across six categories in the WorldStar Packaging Awards, run by the World Pack- aging Organization.The categories include Food, Bev- erage, Labeling & Decoration, Health & Personal Care, Household, and Packaging Materials & Components. Winners from Australia and New Zealand also re- ceived the third-highest number of WorldStar Pack- aging Awards, behind Japan and China.Winners from Australia and New Zealand include PACT Group, in the Beverage category, for the New Zealand brand Lewis Road Creamery post-consumer sourced PCR, 100 per- cent recycled rPET milk bottle range. Stay tray also received an award under the Beverage category, for its re-usable drink tray, designed with 100 percent recycled material sourced fromAustralian busi- nesses to reduce single use. Impact International won an award in the Health & Personal Care category, for the Sarah, Craig and Margorie 100 percent recycled PE and sugarcane PE tubes. Nulon Products Australia & Caps and Closures received an award in the Household category for the Nulon EZY-SQUEEZE fluid transfer sys- tem,which replaces the traditional rigid packaging with a flexible pouch and applicator that makes accessing

hard-to-reach fill points on a car quick and easy. Currie Group was recognized for its printing tech- nology in the Labeling & Decoration category, for packaging that showcases printing, finishing, coding, marking and AR technology, driving awareness to The Australian Rhino Project (TARP). Punchbowl Packag- ing received two WorldStar awards in the Food and Packaging Materials and Components category, for the Kaituna Blueberries peelable, resealable, tamper-proof top seal fibre punnets, which deliver a sustainable solution for consumers that ensures a range of ‘end of life’ options for the packaging. Danone ELN NZ Supply Point received an award in the Food category for its sachet multipack for bothAp- tamil and Karicare Infant Formula ranges, sold in Aus- tralia and New Zealand. OJI Fibre Solutions also won an award in the food category for RJ’s Liquorice open top and open front Shelf Friendly Packaging, designed to withstand export from New Zealand to Australia and handle stacking from pallet displays straight into supermarkets. Hazeldenes’ Chicken Farm & Sealed Air for Cryovac Darfresh on Tray vacuum skin technolo- gy received recognition in the Food category, as it can provide a 25 percent increase in shelf life, over exist- ing MAP applications. Moana New Zealand & Sealed Air received recogni-
