Pour obtenir du succès à tout coup — et éviter de perdre pa- tience devant des bûches qui refusent de brûler! —, suivez ces quelques étapes : 1. Rassemblez tout votre matériel (briquet ou al- lumettes, papier journal, allume-feu, petit bois, etc.) près du foyer; 2. Placez quelques boules de papier journal au centre de celui-ci; 3. Déposez des brindilles de bois ou un allume-feu par-dessus ces boules; 4. Ajoutez du petit bois de façon à former un cône, tout en veillant à laisser suffisamment

Lastly, trail running is simply fun. It can be freeing to let yourself trample through dust, mud and puddles. If you don’t mind getting a little dirty, head out and explore the trails in your area this summer.

3 fat biking tips for beginners
1. TAKE IT SLOW AND STEADY Even though the fat bike’s oversized tires make it easier to ride over rough and bumpy terrain, you should avoid hairpin turns and steep slopes on your first few outings. It’s best to start with short, flat trails until you get the hang of riding your fat bike. 2. LEARN TO CONTROL YOUR SKIDS Experienced riders will tell you that skidding in sand and snow is part of the thrill of fat biking. However, to avoid injuring yourself, you should first practise how to safely perform the ma- noeuvre on beginner-friendly trails. 3. PACE YOURSELF If you come out of the gate running, you’re going to tire yourself out pretty quickly. It’s better to start off slow and gradually increase your pace as you gain more experience. In addition, make sure to keep your fat bike in good working order by maintaining the right tire pressure, lubricating the chain and keeping it clean.

Par exemple, des lanières de sandales et une petite ceinture formeront un collier choker. La vache aura des bottes et un chapeau haut de forme avec voilette et sera accompagnée d’une grenouille, vissée ou collée sur elle. Il y aura aussi, évidemment, des engrenages comme décorations pour respecter le thème de ‘steam’ (révolution industrielle à l’époque victorienne). « C’est un gros projet, je suis impres- sionnée. » dit la dame qui ne manque pas de projets. Elle aime l’art papier, le scrapbooking, mais surtout tout ce qui a trait au steam-punk. «J’étais déçue d’avoir manqué ça l’année passée. Quand j’ai lu que cette année ils allaient faire ça, j’étais toute excitée. » Vers la fin août, les organisateurs sou- haitent exposer les vaches des nouveaux artistes sur les lieux du Festival de la Curd avant qu’elles ne rejoignent les autres déjà installées sur le parcours. Le Festival de la Curd ajoute de la cou- leur au paysage du village de St-Albert et des environs pour une deuxième année consécutive, avec la deuxième phase de son projet « Oh la Vache! ». En raison des mesures sanitaires, le Festival de la Curd reporte sa tenue annuelle pour une deuxième année consécutive. Compte tenue du succès du projet « Oh la Vache! » l’an dernier, les organisateurs ont décidé de le développer davantage cette année. En effet, des vaches colorées et décorées seront ajoutés à celles déjà installées sur un circuit de 30km devant différents commerces, fermes et terrains de résidences entre Embrun et Casselman ainsi qu›à St-Albert. Cette année, une dizaine d’artistes participent à la deuxième édition. Le 17 juillet dernier, Pierre Caron, peintre, ouvrait son atelier, situé dans St-Albert aux visiteurs. Ayant reçu sa vache le matin même, il n’avait pas encore déterminé totalement comment il allait la décorer. Sur fond bleu et dégradé de couleurs, il avait l’intention de peindre des instruments de musique partout sur son corps et d’en faire un thème ‘’ meuuuhsical’ qu’il a couché sur papier. Par exemple, son pis formerait une cornemuse et une de ses taches un triangle. L’artiste compte utiliser la peinture acrylique ainsi que la peinture à l’huile pour les détails, puisqu’il est plus habitué de travailler avec celle-ci. Jacques (Jack) passed away on July 14, 2021, at the age of 84. Son of the late Olivier Guindon and the late Alice Trottier (nee Danis). Life partner of late Marilyn Eaton; father of late Jackie, late Rolly and Carol of Calgary. Step- father of Randy Eaton (Betty Ann), Mark Eaton, Kerry Eaton (Gail) and Cindy Carroll (nee Eaton). Jack is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is lovingly remembered by his special friend, Bonnie Cubitt.
