to be a two-way thing. I will not be able to help them go far if they are not hungry for success. They need to be committed in building this business and in helping others,” Christina shares. Christina also believes in continual learning. “After all, information and knowledge is a currency that is readily available. Why shouldn’t we arm ourselves with it?” she says, and as such, holds workshops and training sessions for her team. She empowers her team with business and leadership skills, product knowledge and newfound developments, so that they are able to build a stronger and sustainable Melaleuca business. In her journey of building a stronger team, Christina also picked up a few key lessons along the way. “It has been a discovery process for myself as well. I learned how to lead groups of people. I learned how to be a leader–an effective one–and through that, became a better person,” Christina shares, saying that her almost two-year journey of building her Melaleuca business has been nothing short of amazing. “To know that I am able to help people change their lives, be it through achieving physical wellness, time freedom or financial freedom, is such a great feeling. And to see your team doing the same for others is definitely rewarding. It’s a very positive ripple effect,” Christina acknowledges. Christina has no plans of resting on her laurels. What keeps her so motivated is her desire to help more people live the life they want to live. Even though the financial potential of a Melaleuca business is unrivaled and within everyone’s reach, Christina believes the most significant aspect of Melaleuca is the opportunity to enhance other people’s lives. “My lifelong goal is to help as many business builders as I can to achieve success in Melaleuca and to find fulfillment in their lives. If we embrace the Melaleuca mission first and foremost, then we’re here at the right place,” Christina concludes. statement in our Melaleuca business journey, and that is to enhance lives.” “... Though our ‘WHY’ may be different, we all share the same mission

Executive Director 8 Christina Thian’s shooting-star success is by no means a small feat. When she first began building her Melaleuca business in March 2016, she did not have much sales experience. Christina, who divides her time between Singapore and Malaysia, also does not have a Malaysian driver’s license nor a strong contact list to begin with. “I made friends with strangers,” Christina laughs, saying that was also how she met her personal Executive Director 4 Yip Kah Chiew, who ferried her on an Uber trip in Kuala Lumpur. Christina’s no holds barred attitude is what propelled the development of her business at a blistering pace. What drove her laser-sharp focus? Explaining, Christina says, “For me, it wasn’t just the desire to enjoy time and financial freedom that building a Melaleuca business can bring. I only began to build this business after attending Convention 2016, and my decision can be attributed to all the inspirational stories I heard. I was very moved, by the stories these leaders shared and by the strength of their characters. In the face of their success, they still found time to help others.” Christina resolved to build a successful and sustainable business, and help others achieve the same as well. Recalling those initial sentiments, Christina looked into the further development of her team this year. She steered her focus towards leadership training, working towards developing more new leaders in her team of business builders. What she learnt at the 2017 Standing Senior Leadership Council (SSLC) in Bangkok also strengthened her determination to do much more for her team. “A sharing at the SSLC really struck me–it’s not enough to just be a leader. One must become a leader worth following, only then will your team truly shine,” Christina shares, who then gave it her all in leading her team with commitment and passion. Continuing, she says, “Though our ‘WHY’ may be different, we all share the same mission statement in our Melaleuca business journey, and that is to enhance lives. I believe in that wholeheartedly, and this is something I continuously remind my team of.” Christina duplicated the system that has boosted her thus far in her Melaleuca business, to her team. “I always tell my team to keep it simple–focus on the 7 Critical Business Building Activities. With this proven formula, you don’t have to re- invent the wheel of success, and everyone has equal chance to succeed if they do their very best to achieve their goals,” she explains. Christina stresses on the importance of consistency in carrying out Critical Activities 1 and 2 to her team, and leads by example in committing to 20 calls per week and one appointment per day. Christina also works closely with each of the business builders in her team. Together, they set realistic, measurable goals that will help each one of them move forward in their business. Just as she is committed in developing her team, she expects the same commitment from her business builders as well. “It needs
