RESEARCH AND SCHOLARLY ACTIVITIES Required Criteria
Project leader or participant in a focused research program Sustained record of high-quality, high-impact publications in peer-reviewed journals Sustained, substantial grant support at the national level Recognition of research excellence at the national level Supporting Criteria Participation or leadership in collaborative research/team science Participation in clinical trials or investigations that may lead to the translation of intellectual property into potentially commercially viable products
CLINICAL SERVICE (if applicable) Required Criterion TEACHING AND MENTORING Required Criteria
Expertise in clinical care which leads to excellent patient outcomes
Recognition as an excellent teacher of students, residents, fellows or faculty Substantial, high-quality mentoring of students, residents, clinical or post-doctoral fellows, and/or junior faculty SERVICE AND LEADERSHIP Required Criteria Leadership role in the academic health center or university, professional organizations, and/or the community Leadership role in multidisciplinary research programs, major clinical trials, and/or research training programs Supporting Criterion Leadership role in his/her discipline or area of expertise at the national level PROFESSIONALISM Required Criteria Serves as a role model in acting in a professional manner in interactions with students, trainees and colleagues Serves as a role model in maintaining a high standard of ethics in research
