Community Happenings Autumn

Celebrations and special occasions Autumn gave us no shortage of occasions to enjoy together. St Patrick’s Day in March was a real highlight, with a solo bagpiper who played both traditional and electric pipes, shared a little history, and inspired one of us to get up and sing. We finished the day with St Patrick’s Day treats in the cafe. Harmony Week was marked beautifully. We came together to create a vibrant Harmony Tree, and the kitchen team baked orange cupcakes for everyone to enjoy. Easter brought the Easter Bunny to our door with eggs and smiles, and one of our staff members joined in the fun by dressing up. We also held a wonderful Easter hunt alongside the kindy children, which was a joy from start to finish. Anzac Day was a deeply meaningful occasion. We attended a service at the Deception Bay RSL, where a bagpiper played and the atmosphere was moving and respectful. In the days following, families and staff joined us to bake traditional Anzac biscuits together. Breast Cancer Awareness Day saw our wonderful ladies baking cupcakes in support of the cause. Mother’s Day was marked with a beautiful high tea, our Mother’s Day raffles, and a room full of warmth and love. And on International Nurses Day we took a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to our nursing team for everything they do for us every single day.
