• Promote awareness sustainability and the role of the Sustainability Team throughout the School. • Organise, promote and undertake awareness campaigns internally and externally. • Represent the School at external environmental stakeholder groups. • Provide written reports to LSE’s management and governance committees on sustainability performance. • Engage with students and staff and other stakeholders to ensure their feedback is factored into sustainability service delivery and decision-making as appropriate. Leadership • Take the lead role in agreeing and achieving the School’s aims in improving its environmental performance and sustainability. • Take the lead in embedding sustainability into LSE’s day to day operations. • Lead implementation of the School’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. • Provide leadership and support to the external community on matters of sustainability. Liaison and Networking • Liaise with students, staff, alumni and external partners to communicate the work of the sustainability team and deliver collaborative projects.

• Maintain good communication links with students and staff to facilitate effective collaborative working. • Liaise with the wider external HE sector and other stakeholders for example local government, professional bodies, local community groups on all areas of environment and sustainability, and share best practice. Service Delivery • Develop policies and procedures, guidance in all areas of environment and sustainability. • To manage the School’s sustainability and environmental related monitoring and audit records, and lead reporting to external benchmarking frameworks and awards, as well as internally. • To independently set and managing overall standards for service across the area of responsibility, creating a professional service for the Division, setting and monitoring service delivery against set performance targets. • React appropriately and promptly to requests for information from staff, students and other stakeholders. • In conjunction with team members, actively promote the environment team to members of the school and other stakeholders. • Contribute to the strategic planning of the Estates Division.

• To practically implement sustainability and environmental policies and requirements across the School. • To develop and maintain a legal register of relevant local, regional, national and international environmental regulations for the School. • Keep up-to-date with environmental issues and UK legislation and provide advice to Environmental/Facilities team and to the School in terms of its regulatory duties. • Support the implementation of ISO 14001 EMS including collating evidence of compliance. • Ensure auditable documentation system on all environmental impacts. • Identify external sources of funding available and submit the appropriate funding applications. Planning and Organising Resources • Manage and supervise the members of the sustainability team. Responsible for their training and development and their appraisals. • Oversee the planning and coordination and service all Estates/Facilities meetings internally and externally, ensuring meetings are properly recorded. Monitor agreed action points where appropriate.
