Beyond Change Event Department Initiatives

In July, the Fort Worth Police Department partnered with the Hope Initiative to host the Beyond Change event with high school students. The Beyond Change event assists youth, law enforcement, community organizations, and social justice experts to promote positive change through collaborative partnerships and community service. Officers engage youth to discuss issues of race and law enforcement reform. After developing a rapport with the students, the officers return to the discussion in uniform to discuss the issues further and develop trust between the youth and the police.

Cowtown Great American Cleanup and A/C Install On July 15, the FWPD joined volunteers to take part in the Cowtown Great American Cleanup event. The event was attended by Chief Neil Noakes, Assistant Chiefs Julie Swearingin, Joseph Sparrow, and Robert Alldredge along with Neighborhood Police Officers. The event included a neighborhood cleanup, A/C installa- tions, and snow cones. Thank you to all the volunteers that took part in the cleanup.

Como and Northside Parades During the Fourth of July weekend, the Como and Northside neighborhoods hosted parades. The events included neighbors lining the parade route to see community groups and leaders. The parades were attended by Chief Neil Noakes, NPOs, and FWPD officers. Thank you to everyone that attended and supported both parades.
