The BIA made the proposal in a letter to Hawkesbury town council. The town would look after plan- ting the replacement trees and the BIA would provide expense money through its 2021 budget. – Gregg Chamberlain LIBRARY BOOK SALE The Champlain Public Library will be holding a book sale, September 19, in front of the library on Main Street in Vankleek Hill and also at the Vankleek Hill Farmers Market. Books in both English and French for all ages, along with magazines, DVDs, and audio books will be available. Proceeds go towards purchase of new children’s books, large- print books, and e-books for the library’s collection. FUNDING AID REQUEST The South Nation Conservation Agency will apply for $1.5 million from the Canada Infrastructure Fund’s COVID-19 assistance program to help with proposals for improvements to local nature parks and trails, foot bridges, and other features. The Ontario government has now de- cided to apply its new attendance limits for private parties to all of the province. The provincial government set new lower limits September 18 on the number of people who can attend private parties or organized public events as part of an effort to curb the recent rise in the number of COVID-19 cases. Those limits were just for the Ottawa, Toronto, and Peel health regions, which have seen serious increases in their case numbers, but as of the September 19 weekend the limits will apply to all of Ontario. “I support the province’s decision to lower the limits on social gatherings,” stated Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, chief medical officer for UIF&BTUFSO0OUBSJP)FBMUI6OJU &0)6 i5IF number of COVID-19 cases across our area, and the province, has been rising steadily over the past few weeks, and it’s mostly due to a minority of people breaking the QBOEFNJDQSPUFDUJPO SVMFTEVSJOHQSJWBUF social gatherings.” The new limits for private parties or other types of social events are now 10 for indoor events and 25 for outdoor events. Organizers of events cannot try to combine indoor and outdoor gatherings at the same location for an increased limit. These lower limits apply just to unmo- nitored private parties and public events like barbecues or wedding receptions held in homes or backyards, and public events

That includes locations like bars, restaurants, theatres, banquet halls and convention centres, gyms, churches, synagogues, and temples, and recreational sports and performing arts events. The original limits of 50 indoors and 100 outdoors apply to these venues.

Hawkesbury council wants to have a report on the shoreline erosion situation along Île Chenail before next spring. Council voted approval during its Septem- ber 14 teleconference for a recommendation from Councillor Yves Paquette to award a contract for the Île Chenail shoreline erosion TUVEZUP-BTDFMMFT&OHJOFFSJOH"TTPDJBUFT Ltd. of Hawkesbury. The decision was based on a proposed estimate from Lascelles last October on how much a shoreline erosion study might cost. The Lascelles estimate was for $39,500. Council had allocated $40,000 in the 2020 budget for the study but then the COVID-19 pandemic struck, forcing town council and staff to focus on maintaining municipal services and putting a temporary hold on some municipal projects. Standard municipal policy for any purchase of goods or services valued at between $5000 and any amount less than $50,000 requires a competitive bid process with at least three bids received for the purchase contract. The town’s recreation director is not available at present to canvass for two more competitive bid proposals for the study so the town recreation and facili- ties committee recommended in a report to council postponing the study to next year and putting the money allocated in the budget into a reserve fund until then.

An approach adapted to the different regions to limit transmission of the virus
Progressive regional alert and intervention system
It is now more important than ever that we follow health measures to limit the spread of the virus. It is essential that each of us remains vigilant and adopts good habits. Since the virus is not spreading everywhere at the same rate, a new tool has been implemented to show how the situation is evolving in each Quebec region. This four-level alert system will make it easier for you to keep track of the government’s interventions. We must contain the spread of the virus throughout Quebec. This is how we can retain some level of normalcy over the next few months. Each region can make a big difference in limiting the spread of the virus. Let’s continue to protect each other.
The Progessive regional alert and intervention system specifies which additional measures each health region must take to slow the transmission of the virus. These depend on the alert level reached and are intended to limit the health, social and economic impacts of COVID-19, protect those who are most at risk and avoid overburdening the healthcare system. The alert levels are established based on the recommendations of public health authorities who regularly review the situation, taking into account the epidemiological situation, transmission control and the capacity of the healthcare system.
Don’t forget that everyone must adopt behaviours that limit transmission of the virus. We do it to ensure that our children can keep going to school, to protect our seniors, to ensure the safety of our healthcare workers and to revive our economy. Follow the basic measures at all times:

LEVEL 1 Vigilance Level 1 requires constant attention amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It corresponds to a low level of transmission in the community. It requires that the basic measures established be followed in all settings (physical distancing, respiratory etiquette, hand washing, etc.). Special measures may also apply to certain activities or settings.
This level is imposed when the level of transmission starts to increase. The basic measures are reinforced and further actions are taken to promote and encourage compliance. For example, there might be more inspections and crowd control in some settings to facilitate physical distancing.
Level 3 introduces additional measures that target specific areas of activity and settings where the risk of transmission is deemed higher. These areas are subject to selective restrictions, prohibitions and closures .
Level 4 selectively applies more restrictive measures up to and including ceasing non-essential activities for which the risk cannot be sufficiently controlled, while avoiding the generalized confinement that was experienced during the first wave of the pandemic as much as possible.

Système d’alertes régionales et d’intervention graduelle
Plus que jamais, nous devons respecter les mesures sanitaires pour limiter la propagation du virus. Il est essentiel que chacun d’entre nous demeure vigilant et adopte les bons comportements. Puisque la transmission du virus ne se fait pas partout de la même façon, un nouvel outil a été mis en place afin de vous permettre de mieux connaître l’évolution de la situation dans chacune des régions du Québec. Ce système d’alerte à quatre paliers facilitera également pour la population le suivi des interventions du gouvernement. Il est nécessaire de contenir la progression du virus partout au Québec. C’est ainsi que nous réussirons à maintenir une certaine normalité dans les prochains mois. Chaque région peut faire une grosse différence pour limiter la propagation du virus. Continuons de bien nous protéger.
Le système d’alertes régionales et d’intervention graduelle précise pour chacune des régions sociosanitaires les mesures additionnelles à déployer pour ralentir la transmission du virus. Celles-ci dépendent du palier d’alerte atteint et visent à limiter les conséquences sanitaires, sociales et économiques de la COVID-19, à protéger les personnes les plus vulnérables et à éviter de surcharger le système de soins. Les paliers d’alerte sont établis selon les recommandations des autorités de santé publique, qui font une analyse régulière de la situation en tenant compte de la situation épidémiologique, du contrôle de la transmission et de la capacité du système de soins. Selon les tendances observées, les paliers seront révisés chaque semaine par les autorités de la santé publique.
N’oubliez-pas, chaque personne doit adopter des comportements permettant de limiter la transmission du virus. Faisons-le pour que nos enfants puissent continuer d’aller à l’école, pour protéger nos aînés, pour assurer la sécurité de nos travailleurs de la santé et pour relancer notre économie. En tout temps, respectez les mesures de base :

PALIER 1 Vigilance Le palier 1 appelle à la vigilance constante qui est requise dans le contexte de la pandémie de la COVID-19. Il correspond à une transmission faible dans la communauté. Il exige le respect des mesures de base mises en place dans l’ensemble des milieux (distanciation physique, étiquette respiratoire, lavage des mains, etc.). Des mesures particulières peuvent également s’appliquer à certaines activités ou à certains milieux.
Ce palier s’impose lorsque la transmission commence à s’accroître. Les mesures de base sont renforcées et davantage d’actions sont déployées pour promouvoir et encourager leur respect. Par exemple, davantage d’inspections peuvent être réalisées et un plus grand contrôle de l’achalandage peut être fait dans certains lieux de manière à faciliter la distanciation physique.
Le palier 3 introduit des mesures additionnelles en ciblant certains secteurs d’activité et milieux où le risque de transmission est jugé plus élevé. Ces secteurs font l’objet de restrictions, d’interdictions ou de fermetures de façon sélective.

mesures plus restrictives pouvant aller jusqu’à faire cesser les activités non essentielles pour lesquelles le risque ne peut pas être contrôlé suffisamment, en évitant autant que possible un confinement généralisé comme lors de la première vague de la pandémie.

Fonctions principales Relevant de la directrice générale de Maison Interlude House (MIH), l’adjointe de direction réalise des travaux administratif s souvent complexes liés aux dossiers de la direction générale. Entre outre, elle coordonne le soutien administratif de la directrice générale et logistique de l’administration, du Conseil et de ses comités afférents. Également, elle coordonne les processus administratif s liés à la gestion des ressources humaines dont certaines tâches associées aux embauches et aux départs, et à la gestion du système de ressources humaines. Enfin, elle coordonne certains achats ainsi que l’entretien d’équipement et de logiciels appropriés aux besoins administratifs de MIH et travaille étroitement avec l’agente administrative. 5. Doit pouvoir s’exprimer clairement et courtoisement dans ses communications liées à la réception et à l’accueil, autant en personne, que par courriel ou téléphone. Elle doit pouvoir traiter avec d’autres personnes pour obtenir les informations nécessaires à la complétion des tâches que l’on attend d’elle. 6. Maitrise du français et de l’anglais, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit. 7. Excellente connaissance des ordinateurs ainsi que des logiciels habituels de bureau tels la Suite Microsoft, en particulier Outlook, Word et Excel, l’Internet. 8. Excellente connaissance de l ’ environnement OneDrive et SharePoint. 9. Capacité supérieure d’établir et gérer ses priorités. 10. Bonnes connaissances en matière du fonctionneme nt d’un organisme sans but lucratif. 11. Excellentes aptitudes d’analyse, de gestion du temps, d’organisation du travail, de résolution de problèmes et de prise de décisions. 12. Entregent et bonnes relations interpersonnelles. Se sentir à l’aise dans les rapports avec la direction générale. 13. Assurance de soi, calme, tact et patience dans le but de régler des dossiers complexes. 14. Capacité de développer et de maintenir des relations productives avec les partenaires et collègues. 15. Capacité d’assimiler et de respecter le s directives de confidentialité de MIH et des partenaires. 16. Expérience du travail avec un conseil d’administration et du fonctionnement d’un orga nisme sans but lucratif serais un atout.
