The vents were installed in the stairwells of the new brand-new, five-storey tower of serviced apartments. Vent Controls designed and supplied all the components, the roof hatch and the control panel, all in compliance with BS 9991 regulations, the code of practice for fire safety in the design, management and use of residential buildings. “We are very happy to deliver this fully compliant system to Kelly Brothers,” commented Joe Cowan, Managing Director for Vent Controls. “Compliance is our bread and butter, mostly for the social housing sector, but it was interesting to supply the

K elly Brothers Building Contractors selected sister company Kellys Point Hire and Building Supplies to hire building equipment and machinery for the new five-storey tower of serviced apartments at Wilton House. Kellys Building Supplies and Kellys Point Hire are part of the Kelly Group. Kellys Point Hire supplied everything for the project, from scaffolding to rubbish shoots, power floats, screeding machines and finishing materials such as sanders for the floors and doors. Machinery included cranes, teleporters and boom lifts. The Kelly Group also includes a builders’ merchant which supplied all building materials, such as timber, MDF, flooring and bathroom fittings, and even manholes and sewer fittings. “The site is very tight and right in a busy part of Belfast, so it wasn’t easy to deliver all the materials and equipment, but working on the project was hugely satisfying,” commented Kellys Director
