Responsible Agency : CoFW Transportation and Public Works (TPW) Reporting Frequency : Annual

A-2: Number of traffic-related serious injury crashes (5-year average) Source: The original data is sourced from TxDOT’s CRIS database and supplemented with the crash analysis from the SAP project team. Baseline (2023) : 411 serious injury crashes Baseline Methodology: The number of serious injury crashes is a 5-year rolling average calculated based on the 4 years leading up to and including the reporting year. 2050 Target: Zero traffic-related serious injury crashes Target Setting Methodology: The CoFW is developing an SAP. It is recommended that the M1M safety performance target aligns with the SAP target of reaching zero serious injury crashes by 2050. The performance target for the number of serious injury crashes in any given year between 2023 and 2050 is calculated based on the 2023 crash data as the initial point and zero as the final point on the projected line for serious injury crashes using a straight-line method. The number of serious injury crashes is expected to be reduced by 15 each year to 228 in total in 2035.
