Master Transportation Plan Task 4: Gap Analysis and Needs Network
those in red fall below it. This spatial analysis reveals that higher-performing routes are concentrated in and around Fort Worth’s urban core, where population and employment densities are highest, while more peripheral or crosstown routes tend to have lower ridership. These patterns reinforce broader productivity trends and underscore the importance of aligning service levels with demand. Overlaying route-level ridership performance with population density reveals the extent to which transit supply is aligned with potential demand. As shown in the map, many of Trinity Metro’s highest- performing routes travel through the city’s densest areas, affirming the link between density and productivity. However, there are also high-density pockets underserved by productive routes, signaling potential areas for service enhancement. 3.5.2.5.3 On-Time Performance by Route Type On-time performance (OTP) is a critical indicator of service reliability and customer satisfaction. OTP was evaluated for two major fixed-route service types: local bus and express routes, using average system-wide percentages reported by each agency ( Figure 23 ). Figure 23: Peer Cities OTP
