PROJECT PURPOSE The project will widen the existing 1.2-mile two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided roadway and construct a bridge over the UP Railroad and Aledo Road intersection. The Texas Department of Transportation is constructing this project.

PROJECT BENEFITS
PROJECT COSTS $115 million (FY 2029 $) JURISDICTION Council District 3
Alleviates congestion on RM 2871 and improves traffic flow in southwest Fort Worth. Eliminates the at‑grade rail crossing with a new bridge structure and improves pedestrian and bicycle connectivity in a rapidly growing residential area. Converts rural cross-section to urban design with curb and gutter drainage.
