PROJECT PURPOSE The Heritage Trace Parkway extension project will enhance connectivity in Council District 7 by creating a four-lane divided roadway, including a new bridge over the railroad tracks and BUS 287, and providing connectivity to Old Decatur Road (BUS 287) and Wagley Robertson Road. PROJECT COSTS $53.6 million West Segment (FY2029) $33.6 million East Segment (FY2028)
Closes a critical corridor gap and enhances connectivity with a new access point to BUS 287. Increases roadway capacity and relieves congestion on parallel routes, and supports long-term infrastructure resilience. Potential train/vehicle conflicts are avoided with the proposed bridge over the UP and BNSF railroad tracks.
