Beauty of Rhône Valley & Provence Breathtaking Rhône landscapes await on this scenic cruise, along with ancient towns and cities, the fragrant aromas of Provence and wonderful nature and wildlife. Think pink flamingos, a famous palace and a sparkling wine tasting. ITINERARY Day 1 Embark in Lyon We arrive in Lyon and board our ship at 15.00, before cruising to Arles. Day 2 Arles We spend the morning cruising before joining an optional guided tour of the beautiful village of Les Baux-de-Provence. Day 3 Arles - Martigues/Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône Today’s optional excursion takes us to the natural region of the Camargue, where a panoramic guided tour reveals rivers, marshes, ponds, pink flamingos, black bulls and Camargue horses. We then visit a ‘manade’ (bull breeding farm) and discover how a ‘manadier’ works with the animals. Day 4 Martigues/Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône - Viviers Today we can enjoy a guided tour of the old town of Avignon with its impressive array of historical monuments, including the famous Palais des Papes (Pope’s Palace). Day 5 Viviers - Tain l’Hermitage After a morning spent cruising, we enjoy an optional excursion to the Vercors Regional Natural Park, stopping at the cellars of Die Jaillance to enjoy a tasting of Clairette de Die sparkling white wine. Tonight is our gala evening. Day 6 Disembark in Lyon After breakfast, we disembark at 09.00 and make our way home. Day 2 Viviers - Arles Today’s optional excursion takes us first to the Ardèche Gorge, known locally as the ‘European Grand Canyon’, followed by a visit to a local lavender producer. Day 3 Arles - Avignon Today we have the option of visiting the natural region of the Camargue, with its flamingos and white Camargue horses, and the beautiful city of Aix-en-Provence. Day 4 Avignon - Lyon We can embark on a guided walking tour of Avignon today, including a visit to the famous Palais des Papes (Pope’s Palace). Day 5 Lyon Today’s optional excursions include time in Lyon to explore the indoor food market and city centre and a visit to medieval Pérouges. Day 6 Disembark in Lyon After breakfast, we disembark at 09.00 and make our way home.
