WINNER: Special RecognitionAward DENISHESSION, FORMERLY HESSIONAGENCIES KINDLY SPONSORED BY: KLAUKE

We were honoured and privileged to present the Special Recognition Award to an exceptionally worthy gentleman with a career in electrical wholesale spanning six decades. Denis Hession of Hession Agencies was presented with this award to acknowledge his outstanding performance and dedication to the electrical industry. While studying at the College of Technology and attaining a certificate in Electrical Engineering, Denis started his career in electrical wholesaling in 1960 at V. Leonard & Co. on Berry Street, Belfast. He later joined G.E.C Power Engineering as Engineering Manager and from there took up a position at Walsall Conduits. He set up his own agency business in 1984 and as time went on, ventured into the Republic of Ireland to continue his success. Denis’ career continued until just before Covid when he decided to retire to care for his wife. Proudly supporting Denis throughout his career, she sadly passed away recently following a lengthy battle with cancer. The judging team felt it was only right to honour this gentleman who dedidedicated his working life to the electrical trade. Described by many in the industry as having an “infectious and happy demeanour”, he is an exceptionally well-liked character and was thoroughly deserving of the Special Recognition Award for 2021.
