CHANHASSEN COMMUNITY CENTER UPDATE Chanhassen's future community center continues moving forward with several important milestones reached in recent months.

Core features remain unchanged, including two ice rinks, a walking track, fitness spaces, indoor playground, field house with gym and turf, dance studio and flexible gathering spaces. Updates include replacing the originally proposed restaurant with an expanded concessions area and larger community room. The project remains aligned with the approximately $80 million budget framework approved by voters. Design work, engineering and construction preparation are now underway, moving the project steadily toward its anticipated 2028 opening. In January, the City Council approved a simplified name for the project. The “Chanhassen Bluffs Community Center” is now officially the Chanhassen Community Center, reflecting resident feedback that requested a clearer, more intuitive name for the city’s main community-owned facility. In February, the City Council unanimously approved the project’s site plan. This milestone confirms how the building will fit on the property, including parking, access, trails, landscaping and safety elements.
